be nice to see how this tire stacks up to the NT05 and Z1 SS dry grip wise.

I'm not digging that price increase... you might as well just get Z1 Star Specs... though again we'll have to wait and see if this update is worth the coin.

I wonder if there will be any notable differences between the regular rt615 and these. Ill just wait after they are track/road tested. If they show no significant differences, ill just go with the Z1 star specs.

They better show some serious improvements and beat the Z1 SS considering that price.

Maybe I'm missing something but the price doesn't seem bad to me

255/40-17 ~ 173

Z1 in same size from tirerack ~159

Let's hope they weigh less than the Z1s. The weight, at least for me, completely rules out the Z1s as a street tire.

The stickiness of the Z1 minus a few lbs. per tires would probably be worth the price difference.

Good point. I never really considered the difference in weight until I started noticing a slight drop in mpg after putting on the Z1s, then I realized they were a whole two pounds heavier than the stock Advans.

well that article explaines why discount tires had another rt615 on there site.

but for real sense discount tires is giving an $80 rebate on the normal 615's it really makes buying the new version hard :-( if you get the 245/45/17 size after the rebate, each tire comes out to $106.

they sould have given the rebate to the new version to stir up some interest for people to test them
