Ok so I made the mistake of buying used coilovers. After some research i discovered that Tein Flex's for evo's have been recalled for the lower bracket. The issue im having is that the lower bracket is stuck and im wondering if its because it is the recalled bracket and is now cracked and corroded.

Anyone had this issues with this and any suggestions for removing a stuck ring on coilovers?

PS spanner wrenches suck ***...

 

Also btw i have used an enormous amount of leverage with a 4 ft breaker bar and it has been shearing teeth off the lower ring...

 

try calling tein and see if they can fix it.

 

This actually could be a nice set of coilovers if the ****ing rings would come loose. I think that it is related to the lower bracket recall as the rears have zero issues as well as both spring rings in front also have no problems. Im seriously considering cutting the ****ing rings off just short of the threads then beating them off with a screw driver...
