Quick Master cylinder Recall Question

Hi guys.. my Clutch master cylinder went out again! I had my car towed to a dealership. They called me back saying they wouldn't do a recall now because im not on a stock master cylinder anymore. I have SSP. freakin bs.. I had mine switched years back before my oem snapped.

later, they said they can put a stock one back on with some new o-ring.... is this what's being recalled? for those of you that took it in. Did you guys get the evo 9 clutch MC with upgrades? or stock Evo 10 MC again with an "o ring" modification ?

thanks.. need responses fast please so I can tell the dealer what to do.

If the SSP unit failed, I don't get why you are expecting the dealership to replace it with a stock unit for free on the recall.

It's the updated CMC that comes on the newer X's. Plastic, stronger adhesive.

From what I was told, It's only meant for the stock clutch. Not sure if anyone here has tested it with an aftermarket one. Might want to search.

Let us know how it goes with your aftermarket clutch. I still need to have the recall done but am thinking about going with a EVO IX CMC instead.

I'm getting it out of the dealer tomorrow. From other posts, it will take ~100 miles or less to break in the CMC.

I just don't trust this new CMC at all..

haha its cool. I got the same response from the dealer, which pissed me off. I had to get them to get a manager or call Mitsubishi North America.. a manager strolled over 30 minute later to "approve" the recall.. then demanded photos be taken of all my after market parts. I told to go ahead.. not like I'll ever go back to Mitsubishi for any warranty..

You don't need to break in a cmc. If the clutch pedal feels soft or engagement is off, get them to bleed it again and to double check their work.

thanks. I read a lot of people having weird engagement points until driving it for a hundred miles. so I thought there's a break in period

I'm ordering the magnus conversion kit.. not going to take another chance.

got me stuck in the middle of the freeway.. center lane.. while everyone else was going 80+ twice..

... come on dude.. it's a nation wide recall. I can bring in my car in with no CMC and they still have to fix it. It's a safety concern.

wonder how many people actually turn away when mitsubishi denies a recall.
