9 inch rim is designed to run 255, running 245 will stretch the tires you'll lose mph b/c the side wall is thinner.

I have the same wheels by the way, running 255/40, if you really wanna do 245, do 245/45 don't do 245/40 you gonna lose mph, speed odometer reading will mess up

255/40/17 is def where its at...

If you want comfort with grip Michelin PS2's (expensive though).

If you just want grip Dunlop StarSpec (not comfy, very aggressive).

Tires are completely subjective, everyone is different with what they like. Its totally up to you...

255/40 Nitto NT-05's. Do it, and don't look back. Best tire i've ever driven on. Grip is great. better than the star specs from what i've seen.

I have Continental DSW's in 245/40-17 (stock bbs rim though), got awesome ratings on tire rack in all categories. If you daily drive your car like me, theyre an awesome tire all around and will get you thru the snow/slush days and still hook like mad in dry conditions.

I wish Id gotten 245/45's though for the extra overall height over the 245/40. Im probably going to pick up some dot legal drag tires though once I get my car back for summer driving.

i got them from a place here in queens called full throttle parts ... it set me back $950 bux !! 17x9 team dynamics 1.2 flat black i cant wait to see how these rims r gunna handle wit the billstein and swift spec r spring setup !

how will these rims handle on the 1/4 mile ??

i know there good for time attack but just wanted to see if neone has any knowledge on that subject

also how is the evo gunna respond to a 255/40 tire ?? any rubbing on turns or anything of this matter ??

i know im asking alot but i just want to see what everyone else experience is wit 17 inch rims that have a 255/40/17 tire on it
