245-45 vs 255-40

on a 17x9 wheel just looking to see pics of both. i have a feeling the 245s may look a little weak (currently running 235 45 on a 9 ,, it looks wack but i had them from the stock wheels so i used them

245 on a 9 inch wheel is too skinny. I'd use atleast 255 if not 265. That's just me. I'm anti-stretch. Even a little bit

I ran a 255 on a 9 inch wheel and it was not stretched at all. Could fit a 265 if you want and have the right offset.

Wider is better. i always like the look of the 255/40 on my bbs wheels over my current 245/45 265./xx would be real aggressive. spacers needed maybe.

I've had 255's on 8.5 and 9.5" wheels. Sidewalls were slightly stretched on the 9.5's and slightly bulged on the 8.5's, should be perfect on a 9" wheel.

Here's a picture of the 255's on 17x9 +35... I'd go to 265's now that they are out, they are ~$5 a tire difference, so $20 for the set... that's a no brainer in my mind! Plus closer O/D to stock then the 255's are. (255's are a bit shorter overall)

Im running a 255/40 on my 9" rim and it fits perfect. Im gonna jump up to a 265 or maybe a 275 tire when these are shot though.

Right now I have 255/40/17 on stock EVO tires. You guys think I could fit 265s under my IX? Lowered on Tanabe GF210s.

There are lots (A6, V710, Kumho XS, etc) of 275/40/17 tires available on TireRack.

I think the Toyo R1R is available in that size too.
