nope, i'm running SE BBS rims and just want to see evidence of why spending $800 for a rim makes somebody feel that there is a 0% chance it will get pwnd as easily as a $300 rim.

Every wheel, no matter how expensive has the potential of problems. But better design and craftsmanship means less risk of that happening. And better material and craftsmanship is costly.

BTW, try getting your BBS from Mitsu for $300...not gonna happen bro!

Come to think of it, I dont think I have ever heard of anyone cracking one of their BBS'. Plus you can get a whole set for less than the cost a 1 volk wheel.

Not the stock BBS, but a BBS wheel nonetheless. BBS LM... like I said, all wheels has the potential. Its what a company does to prevent the potential from actualy happening.

its a crack right in the middle of one spoke- not repairable now it goes into the track and i have a set of 3 volk LE28n wheels that will be almost impossible to sell, unless i fork up $700-800 bucks to find ONE more just to match....
Damn, same wheels I got, I better go check them. In all seriousness, it may have been manufactors defect. Dont forget, these are some strong wheels and although there is no dent in the rim, you may have it a pothole. The impact may have been absorbed by the tire, but the shock could I have gone right to the spoke. I know it sounds a bit confusing but it could happen. You said you used it for your daily commute, have you hit any potholes at all? Did you buy these wheels new or used? They may have already had a crack when you bought em.

I'll comment...

First time I've seen something like that with a Volk. Looks like a stress facture... That sucks.

Thats a pretty good crack. What is the offset and size of those? I have the exact same set, and would purchase the 3 if you wanted to sell them(depending on price of course). Mine are 18x8.5 +30. I would always like to have spares in case something similar happens to me. Just thought I'd throw that out there if your looking to get rid of em.

Wow James. Definitely bad luck.

Fortunately you weren't travelling at high speed or this could've been worse. And this is the first time I've seen a break like that. Probably was somehow faulty during the manufacturing process.
