Removing Front Tie Braces?

I am getting rattling issues with the 2 front lower tie braces hitting the downpipe, can I remove them and not have any issues? I've tried spacers, but after I removed my stiff blox front motor mount, I'm getting the rattling again. I would rather be done with the issue altogether and just remove the 2 bars.

Any thoughts?

You mean Megan exhausts don't come with tie bar spacers so it doesn't rattle? Hmmm, all of our exhaust do.

Yes you can take them off.

I just realized my sig is incorrect, I got mislead into buying an "Ichiba" downpipe when I first bought the car, I really have a megan testpipe back exhaust, but in any case thanks for the input. I don't think the megan IX downpipes need spacers

Call me crazy, I think that modifying the structure/composition of a street car to suit an aftermarket part is absurd.

You will feel no difference with the bars off but I simply used washers on mine to space it down a bit or you can just do what most do and bend the bar a little with a pry bar

I have 3 washers on it now, probably a little thicker than a quarter each...I may try and add 2 more and see if that solves it, but we'll see. If they don't really effect the car adversely then I may just take them off completely and be done with it.

They are there for a reason. Some of us actually even go so far as to upgrade in search of chassis stiffness and better handling on the track.

I agree. I would space for the bar to stay. They are there for structural rigidity.

Seriously, 99% of "you guys" wouldn't know if you had a flat tire, let alone the tie bars taken off the car............

Or you could get the Cusco tie bars that give a little more clearance than the stock bars, but then you have to spend more money, and like David said, you probably wouldn't notice the difference anyways.

I use spacers for both tie bars. As far as I can tell, the tie bars are there to keep the subframe from flexing. I'm guessing they were originally engineered for the car to handle rally jumps, but they certainly can't hurt for auto-x and track days. In daily street use, they probably don't make a huge difference. If only one of them is annoying you, then maybe just run one out of the two.
