Who's running Conti Ext. DW?

Hello-

I am considering running some conti extreme dw tires, 245.40.18's to replace the stock evo 10 tires.

if your running the conti ext dw, please describe your likes, dislikes of the conti.

Also list your comparison tire for reference.

would you buy the conti ext. dw tires again.

This tire will be used on normal roads with minimal rain (southern calif.)

I dd my car & looking for decent comfort, grip & wear vs. max Grip

I thought the oem X tires had little front grip compared to the bfg g-sport force on 17" wheels that came off....maybe it is due to the increased rotational mass???

just looking for some insight.

TIA

Great tire for the money. Running with some of the more expensive big dogs in its class for less cost. Check out our test results here.

Sorry to go off topic Abby,

Neal what do you think of Sumitomo HTR Z III and Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 tires. I think they are priced at the lower end of the class, but can provide comparable numbers to the Continental ExtremeContact DW.

UPDATE: I just installed a set of 245/40/18's conti extreme dw tires on my evo8.

WOW- these tires blow away the oem yoko's that come on the evo X's......

corner exit, power down, turn in, braking = awesome....this is in the dry btw....

in the wet....no comparison, these tires are very confidence inspiring in the rain.....

btw, these tires take the edge off of my coil overs too!!

I just installed a set on my VIII. They are incredibly grippy, and when they do break free, it's predictable and linear. They also have very soft sidewalls (for a max perf. tire) so most bumps get sucked up like a luxury car. Some of the more hardcore-ers might not like it, but I think it gives the evo some much-needed refinement.

I should also point out that I went 295 miles on my last tank with these on. I usually go 250-265 before the light comes on. Their tread pattern looks alot like the PS2's.

*I have not driven these in the rain yet since I just got them. I'll try to report back once I do.

This past weeks Import Tuner Continental EVO -vs- STi Shootout on the Extreme DW 340 UTQG

In car footage is of me chasing JC Meynet on the same spec tire. Also, AMS ran a 1:55 during this event

How do you think these compare to the direza z1 star specs? Any experiences in terms of grip? These tires are light too

A small performance step down from the Z1's. Little longer lasting and a tad quieter.

12/31/10 update:

WOW- these tires are amazing in the wet. powerdown is awesome!

i dont track my car, i just hustle it home through the twisties every evening & the grip is great (compared to oem evo X yok's), yet are smoother riding & quieter.

Absolutely zero complaints or regrets when comparing them to the X oem tires.

Happy New Year

How do they compare to the Hankook V12 K110? The last test C&D did the V12 were a lot better than PS2 and the DW seems on par with them....
