Spacers safe to run?

Exactly. I have a friend running a 25mm spacer with NO PROBLEMS at all. Make sure you check all the bolts after 1000 miles or so.

used to have spacers on my truck that was used for mudding... i hit trees and rocks and they still held up.. should be fine on a evo

as long as you get a decent brand they are totally safe. When i first got my evo it had big gay 20's on it with spacers almost an inch thick lol

I've done 25k daily miles and auto-xing and tracking the car for two seasons with 15mm bolt on spacers, the only time I've ever taken them off is to change rotors.

i have 3mm spacers from eibach and i think it looks weird with spacers! 20mm is huge!!!! ha but yeah shouldnt affect imo as long as you have the ones that bolt down stock lugs
