I noticed my car suddenly started to shake both on freeway and when I brake, very frustrating!
I managed to take a look at the outer tie rods and I saw grease oozing out I dont know if its the
inner or outer rod ends that need changing. At 60mph it shakes minimally but 5 mphs later all hell
breaks loose and car shakes like shakiras hips, face palm. I also im going to get my rotors resurfaced
because im pretty sure theyre warped! Anyways, I found both outer and inner OEM set for 233 bucks.
My local suspension shop seem like they don't know what theyre doing even they could not tell where
the shaking was from. Please, if someone went thru the same shi* help a fellow evo owner.

Heres what the driver side outer tie rod looks like...

Go to a better shop. Replace parts. I had an outer rod go on my 8 once too. Fixed, never an issue again.

Quote: hey smike i understand your a suspension pro. I see u replied on my thread im goin to get my tie rods fixed. but i also have another problem and maybe u can chime in. when driving slow over little bumps and imperfections on the road the steering wheel seems to go right and left not shaking but like it steers it self, like if i hold the steering wheel with on hand easily, and run over potholes and such steering wheel starts to move around left and right.
From the PM to me -- I highly recommend going to a good area shop. It sounds like you have tie-rod issues for sure and possibly more. Really worn out tie-rods (inner and outer) will give the same symptoms of shaking under braking, drifting sensation on the road, and bumps.

Moog also makes these parts for much less than OEM. Also contact Russel @ russellM (mitsubishiparts.net)

Russel is the man. Change them/ get an alignment, tires balanced at the same time.
