Brake rotors

I need new rotors for my car. OEM's are 400 bucks just for the fronts. I don't want drilled rotors because the sticky had some negative things to day about them. Slotted's are cool but can't be turned. Are there any solid face rotors that are cheaper than OEM but are as good or better?

Did both, didn't help. I need brands and part numbers.

Slotted can be turned.

you can resurface slotted rotors as well. agree on staying away from drilled. I would go with powerslot replacements.

STICKY: Slotted

"Cons: If you ever have pad material transfer (warping) on the rotor face you will not be able to turn the rotor surface (take off a thin amount of material to clear up pad transfer). Creates fissure points for the rotor to crack from. De-gassing is not often heard of anymore."

I should update that some.

Can be done at high end shops. 95% of the places you are likely near - wont touch them.

regardless.. if you buy a NICE set of slotted rotors, the chances of them warping like the stock garbage is very unlikely. that's the point of spending more on the rotor isn't it? to get a better product? I've never warped a set of upgraded rotors and that's over the last 3 years of racing 3-4 different cars, i doubt rotors on the street will ever get that much abuse.

Define "nice." Brand/model recommendation?

Agree. Proper pad selection with good rotors = less likelihood of issues.

I run a set of Cyro PowerSlot Slotted on my SVTF track car matches to EBC Yellows. Zero issues. Absolutely love the setup for that car.

What is this supposed to mean? The stock rotors are not garbage FYI. The reason they are so expensive is because they are manufactured by Brembo, who last time I checked seems to make decent brake products.

I believe rotors warp due to excess heat so if the car is tracked its a good idea to invest in some brake cooling ducts to keep them cool. Heck, if you are seriously tracking the car, keeping your brakes cool is a great idea anyway as it will not only help reduce, fade but it may even save your live.

yes, i understand why rotors warp. but stock rotors, even brembo ones, aren't meant to hold up to hard abuse and constant repeat heat and cool cycles. sorry, they're not garbage for the typical evo owner.

That's weird because I'm sure Mitsu knew Evo's would see track time.
