Just checked and yeah, there isn't a Moog listing for Evo tie rod ends. Weird.

My passenger tie rod end was clunking at 93k. I replaced drivers side at same time. Ordered through Napa, good quality and a good price both for under $100. Of course alignment afterwards. I was in same boat as you (OP), thirties and use it as a DD, but still have fun with it. My opinion, the roll center kit not worth extra money.

Figured I'd bump this as I'm currently trying to get my hands on an outer for a buddy (I work for O'Reilly) and found something interesting which I'm looking for input on. The Beck/Arnley ends list multiple vehicle applications, from the Evos to early 2000s Galants, 3Gs, and Outlanders... Some of which DO have Moog listings. Any thoughts on using those despite not having Moog list them specifically for our vehicles?

Maybe I need to replace mine! I have this 'clunking sound' too but for both sides.... Been awhile and is annoying at lower speeds and goes away under braking while going over a speed bump or smaller road imperfections....

I shall try this out!

EDIT: Yes, still on my OEM outer tie rods at 145K!

Seeing how you work there, could you order up the parts (or check with someone at a warehouse where they're stocked?) and see if they are a direct replacement??

Would like to know too...

There's so many things that go clunk in the front ends of these cars that I wouldn't automatically decide it is a tie rod end. Grab the rotor at 3:00 & 9:00, push and pull and watch for play in the joint.

They appear the same, the threading's the same, it's more of whether or not it'll stand up to the abuse our cars put suspension components through, since Moog specifically doesn't list them for us.

Other thing too if you find no play, make sure the rear bushings on the front lower control arms aren't torn, they'll clunk too but won't really do much else.

I've got a nice clunk over bumps I've heard since I bought this car three years ago and 40k miles ago. I attribute my issue to worn struts and strut mounts - won't replace them til I make up my mind on which coil-over setup I want.

Never had an issue with tie-rods though, and I track/DD/drift my car all the time.

I had to change my inner & outer tie rods and I went stock/OEM from the Dealership. I know people that had their WhiteLine's fail. Now WhiteLine honored their product and sent new ones, but I look at it this way: My car just turned 95K and the OEM ones didn't fail me in all that time, so I'm staying with the OEM ones!

I ended up just telling my buddy to go OEM instead of making him the guinea pig on the Moog ones. If mine go out, I'll probably try the Moogs since they are cheaper than OEM.
