Lowering spring question
Lowering spring question
Hello guys i have a evo 8 mr with the bilstein stock suspension and im looking into lowering it. I want a good drop but not too harsh of a ride. What springs should i go with and will it in anyway effect my launch with the increased spring rates and if so in a bad or good way?? Thanks for your help
Swift Spec R's ftw! All day everyday!
I just installed mine on Saturday.

Anyone on this forum will tell you Swift Sport or Spec-R, GTWorx, or Robispec will be your only choices. There are many threads about this and I think I've read them all and thats what they all recommend. Stay away from Tein S-Techs.
i've personally been researching this quite a bit lately... my camber plates added height to my front suspension and my car just looks funny now... and after all i've found my take is that swift springs give the best ride and spring quality out of the spring only suspension upgrade...
also i've found that our stock bilstiens can be revalved by bilstein usa for 60-75 dollars each... making them a really decent suspension setup for really cheap...
i've also looked into full kits... and my choice has been the stance gr+ pro for adjustability/ price/ quality
i'm personally am gonna go with swift springs until i finally take my evo off the road then i'm gonna go stance coilovers for track use...

IMO the Swift springs will give you the maximum drop without adversely affecting the handling and longevity of your struts. Not sure if the sport or spec-r would be better suited for drag racing, but the spec-r is definitely great for auto-x or road racing.
