Hub centric help?

Alright so im running a 18x9.5+48 but the wheels wont fit cause it hits my brembos. I was told i could run a 15mm hubcentric spacer to fit them. How does those spacers work, what do i need with it and how do i use it? NewB question. Never used it before. Thanks

A hub centric spacer is a very simple piece. As its name suggests, it mearly 'spaces' the wheel from the hub allowing for extra clearance from the calipers and struts/coilovers. Reference the figure below:

Hubcentric means simply that the spacer is sized to match the hub bore of the car that it is going on. For mitsubishi evo's, this is 67.1mm. A quality hub centric spacer will also be centric to the wheel itself. The reason behind a hub/wheelcentric spacer is that it will eliminate vibrations from your wheel that can occur by using a non centric spacer. A good place to buy hub and wheel centric spacers from is motorsport-tech in Nevada.
