I have searched this topic before and still dont seem to have an answer and as far as suspension I am a newbie.

I have 05 MR with Bilsteins, all stock still. I have 45K on them and for last 15K have had a thud sound coining from them at low spends, but seems to disappear at hight speeds. I cant identify what is causing or even which tire as it might be more than one. I remember in past alot of MR EVO's seen similar behavior. My question is does anyone know of cause and would rebuild be in order? If so how much?

 

i broke one of my bilsteins and called the manufacture. they told me to repair it would cost almost as much as buying a new one. they do however have old ones people have sent in that they can swap stuff around with if it is fixable. could cost a lot or could cost a little. just depends whats wrong and if they have the extra parts from used ones

 

oh I forgot to mension they have a set cost for labor as well

Bilstein HD (aftermarket) are $750 for a set of 4.

Rebuild via Bilstein West is $75+shipping (and more if needed for parts).
