Front Hub Replacement

So I took my hub off because the bearings are bad. They are causing my wheel to shake a bit. When I put the hub back on should I grease this who piece.

Yup, just a bit if anti-seize on the spline to help ease install, and future removal.

Screw a little. Put A LOT of anti-seize on. You don't want this to happen to you.

this was mine. Axle never came out so I ended up replacing the axle and entire hub assy...

Yeah, anti seize. My last wheel bearing I did looked like pictured above. I spent a lot of time to get the threads back so the nut would tighten. Not fun

A thin coating of heavy grease will work too. What you don't want is the splines rusting and rust welding.

I was in the process of replacing boots on the front axles of my WRX when I encountered a stuck axle in the hub. The end of the axle had a cone shaped depression (actually the lathe center from when it was machined). So, I put the pointy tool on my air hammer in this hole and let it loose. Out came the axle.

Always think ahead and just greese it. and anti seeze it. Makes the next time(hopefully not anytime soon) that much easier
