Suspension plan help

i did a quick search for this but didn't find much, hope i didn't miss anything. had our evo for a few months now and I love it. I was always a rwd car guy but Ive been slowly won over the past few years with the hard facts about sheer grip. I like the handling of our IV but the understeer sometimes annoys me along with the roll. Its a DD car, only a few autox events planned in the summers. I was looking at the AMS site and checking out their stage 1 suspension package. Anyone have it? Ive done enough reading to know I wan't MR bilstiens and possibly some springs, but i was thinking about getting that AMS package first and seeing if that would improve things enough for now.
Thoughts?

The AMS suspension package is to maximize the potential of the stock setup. The understeer will be minimized but its still going to be there.

If I were you I would spend the money on swapping the rear diff plates instead. This will get rid of the understeer that you now experience.

OP, is your Evo on the stock suspension? If so, are you sure? It just seems odd that it would noticeably push on the street to the point of annoyance.

Edit: I just looked at a pic of your car and the suspension looks stock. Have you changed the tires yet, or are you still on the Sunnys?

It doesn't understeer badly. Just pushes a little more than id like. I was reading about the rear diff options... you might be right. I also havn't adjusted the camber up as much as I can because i don't trust the local tire shops to align it correctly.
FJF- ya Im still on the sunnys. its winter here and it rains like 120 inches a year... so Im gonna use these till spring and then get some new rims with summer tires.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
A lot of that has to do with the tires.

PS your sig... IV = 4.

Good alignment (maxing out front negative camber) and good tires is a....ummm...good start. You'll need a little more to get the car where you want it.

At this point even EVO IX shocks are 5 years old....so replacing those with rebuilt/revalved Bilsteins with a good set of springs would be on my list for freshening up a car. And a handful of bushings.

A lot of people throw on a rear swaybar because it's cheap and easy. It does help....just make sure not to go too big though especially if you just get the rear. The Whiteline 24mm rear adjustable works well on it's own BUT getting front and rear really helps improve overall grip.
