Do you regret getting a sunroof?

Hey guys, I'm about a week away from picking up an Evo X with SS and SL packages. I have no problem with having leather, but I originally didn't plan on getting a sunroof. I have a sunroof on my current car and I'm fine with it. I was wondering if any one regrets getting an Evo with a sunroof?

You know I was in the same boat as you.. I was at the dealer getting ready to sign papers.. I had every intention on buying a WW with SS and SL.. I wanted just leather seats with no sunroof but they didn't offer that.. They did offer having the seats reupholstered in leather but I also didn't want that. So I asked myself, how often do I really use a sunroof? The answer was never or very seldom at best. The other thing is that the roof isn't aluminum with a sunroof.. Its steal apparently for structural support. So in the end I said the hell with it and I did without the leather and sunroof. I figured if I one day found someone selling leather seats I would swoop them up.

I had a sun roof on my last car, and i loved it. Used it in winter/all year round. My evo sadly does not have one. I miss it. I got a great deal on the car, could not refuse.

Depends on what you want the car for. For casual driving and cruising, sunroof is nice.

But if you like to track, autox, or race; no sunroof.

I've never been a fan of sunroofs anyways. If I want more outside elements, I'd just roll down the windows.

I wouldn't mind having the sunroof. I have an Eclipse Spyder and enjoy putting the top down on it when I can. Sure a sunroof might not be used all the time cause it might be too hot or you don't feel like having the sun beating down on you. But I would think its nice at night time or early in the morning when I am traveling to work or during any season besides summer.

My understanding is it does weigh a little more because of the steel roof but how much more weight is it really? Is it really that noticeable? I bet if I dont take a poop in the morning it would be equivalent to the additional weight of the sunroof and I doubt you would notice any performance difference.

Someone who had this done posted some pics. It turned out really nice. They offer all kinds of colors. Single or two tone colors and colored stitching. I think it looks much better then what comes with the SL package.

Getting one on my car was a requirement, no regrets. This is a daily driver and will never be tracked.

I have an 03' evo.. and the only reason I regret getting the sunroof is because that god damn screw always falls out that holds the motor into place. And when that falls out I have to take down the headliner and fix it..
UGH

I have no regrets and love my sunroof. I wouldn't have bought the car without it.

Having the leather is *worth* being meh about the sunroof.

I only use the sunroof in winter, since summer heat is WAY too intense here in Phoenix with a sunroof, however, popping it up while I'm at work all day does keep the interior heat down a bunch.

Sunroof was also a requirement for me. I love having it open when my windows are down
