reset steering angle sensor?

Hei guys

I had to remove the steering column near the pedals area when I had to change my transfer case. Kinda accidentally spun the steering wheel when it wasn't connected. So clock spring is screwed. I have align back the steering angle at the tire shop. Car now stills feels weird, it pulls left or right as it wishes. When I'm taking a left corner I can feel the car wants to do the opposite . OK what I've done so far that seems to help a bit are 1. Change steering fluid. 2. Alignment 3. Change all 4 tires. 4. I prob have to.double.check my alignment again

One thing that bugs me, do I need to reset the steering angle sensor in the ecu? I'm worried the ayc is reading something else even.though the car is goin straight.

Also I had the bump steer kit installed. I'm sure it suppose to help wit handling rather than making it erratic.

Any comment guys?? Especially on the steering angle sensor thingy?

you can reset the steering angle sensor no problem, there are directions on the clockspring explaining the orientation, you turn it all the way clockwise i believe then go back 3 1/4 turns i think it was,the steering angle sensor will go all the way one way and then stop, turn it back the other way counting how many turns then go back the other way half the total amount, hope that makes sense

Hey thanks for the reply.
I would have the thought resetting the steering sensor is done through the ecu? So are ya saying its more of a manual configuration?
At the moment my srs light is on n the horn is not working. I'm assuming the clock spring is damage. The diagnostic was saying its a squib 2 fault.
Since the evo ayc takes into account the steering input, I'm worried if my sensor is reading wrong.
At the moment wit my steering in its centre position, I have equal Max turns to the left n right.
how does the clock spring effect steering angle or it doesn't.

Cut clock spring wiring

Soo say I was dumb enough to cut the clock spring wire from the cover, how dangerous might that be 😅?

Really I'll end up replacing it anyways and having to delete the codes or well reset the battery again. But I drive the car daily and dont want to die lmao. I will replace it the problem was I bought a cheap hub but is there a way of saving the cover of the clock spring to the point i can put my cheap hub that doesnt have a slot for the wire for the airbag and horn to go thru i dont care about an airbag light or the horn not working I just care about my awd system or clock spring causing me to crash because the wire is cut and I'll be taking a turn maybe idk hasn't happened yet but I'm hoping it doesnt lock me up or cause a random turn to cause an accident lol. I know sounds dumb but it is what it is 😁. Much help would be appreciated!
