Hi guyz, thursday I installed Swift sports springs (GSR version) with Bilstein HD struts. I noticed right after the install that both the rear sides are higher than what they should be. These springs are supposed to drop the car 0.8" in the rear but mine have dropped by about 1/4"!
I waited until saturday (50 miles after) to recheck them and both haven't move.
So I lift the car to double check if the springs are ok and well placed in the perch groove. All was okay.

Front:

REAR (what the hell):

Whole car:

They should look like this (ride height is even):

What is is happening ?
I read a lot about this and beside the fact that the spring wouldn't be installed correctly, nothing seems to point my problem.

Is it possible that the Bilstein HD struts or Swift sports need a break-in period??

I removed the rear struts to check them and all seems okay. The strut is right where it should be. Still searching to solve that..

Top perch:

Lower perch:

Any ideas what's happening?
Could I have received wrong springs??

Update:

Struts were mounted like this, lower perch is upside down (seriously?? hahah)
:

Red arrow point the lip that should normally be hidden by the lower perch.
This side go up:

This side goes down:

It looks obvious but when you go fast and don't really care, you have to redo the job twice .

Check the Spring Rate thread that's stickied at the top of this forum, it should say that both kinds of Swifts are supposed to lower the rear by .8 inches or so, even less if they are the ones intended for use with Bilsteins. I think 1.4 inches refers to the front drop.

Yes, I made a mistake when I wrote my thread (Ok now), but you can see the difference in ride height that is noticeable...
There is something going on there..

The only thing I can think of is that they need a few days to settle, or they were just installed upside down.

^^Springs are not upside down (springs tapers at the bottom). I'll give them a few days and if this isnt okay I'll remove them and check the upper perch mount because I can't see it while they're on the car.

^^^^ How does it ride? Is it bouncy? You might need the MR specific rear springs, since you've got the Bilsteins now, HD version or otherwise. Either that, or you didn't tighten the top nut all the way down to fully compress the spring in it's "normal" position.

Ignoring the facts that the car you posted is parked on an uphill slope making it appear much lower and is on 18" wheels which again puts an illusion of it being even lower,...............

You need to give them at last 2 weeks to settle on their own. If you'd like to help the process throw a few 50lb bags of sand in the trunk.

It should still sit at least close to even, uphill or downhill. Mine does.

Would putting the lower perch upside down do this? I installed the same setup 2 months ago and it looked good from the get go.

Would putting the lower perch on upside down do this? Mine looked good immediately after mounting. (double post! Stupid connection...)

I just looked at my car and compared it to the lower perch pic you just added. I'm not sure, but I still think your lower perch might be upside down. Are you familiar with how to tell? One side has a groove cut out and I think another cut out for a small nub iirc.
