If you are strictly DD'ing the car, I would just say stick with the stock setup. It works quite well in my opinion...

If you are planning on doing other things on the other hand, I would look into upgrades.

Does 400 hp make the car weigh more or something?

Centric Blanks (the blanks used on most slotted systems, but much cheaper and none of that slotted garbage). Pads, no clue. Something that doesnt dust much

No, however it does help the car to achieve greater speeds more easily so additional stopping power does give piece of mind.

Personally I rum DBA 4000 slotted rotors Stoptech Street pads Techna-Fit SS brake lines and Amsoil brake fluid and my brakes feel great.

The car is 95% street driven and 5% auto-x and I have no complaints whatsoever.

I remember one of the car magazines testing the stock Evo when it reached our shores (USA) and finding that the stopping distance set a new record for their testing, beating out a Porsche that had previously held the record. Now remember, the OP said that his car was a DD. When I got my '03 I wasn't worried about being able to stop, I was worried about the guy behind me being able to stop as quickly as I could.

yeah, but on stock pads, after 3 stops you get massive brake fade...

for spirited road driving, you need pad upgrade, at least..

best is Performance friction front discs + performance friction pads, or for even more stopping power, Carbotech XP10 pads...

on my car I have DBA 5000 discs and Carbotech XP10 pads, and I track it (roadcourse..) + do some spirited driving in the mountains... and this was the only setup to work properly..

+1 I hate it when people tailgate me. I'm always worried about that. I'm thinking of getting a warning sticker put on my rear bumper saying "You can't accelerate or brake as fast as me! Don't try to race me or tailgate!"

Xp10's are not what you recommend someone to use on a daily, the dust is massive and you are LUCKY if they dont make noise.

I think the Carbotech Bobcat would be a really good pad for you, front and rear.
As for rotors the other suggestions are good.

I agree that the noise is massive on the carbotech xp10, but I do not agree on the dust.. Frankly, I don't care much about the noise, and it is an issue only at very low speeds..

as for PF discs and pads, I drove that combo recently and that didn't make much noise.. dunno about the dust.. we seem to all be running dark grey BBS rims..
