Don't like the size or the type of tire? That's a good size to use, but there are others using a 255 on a 9" wheel. Not sure if they have any rubbing issues with that offset, however.

Yea I read that it's a smaller tire size than oem. Someone suggested 265/40/17 can someone confirm it will fit without rolling all my fenders I want to buy tires today.

Tire Noob (2)

I have the stock setup at the moment... on my 2.0 de...
Wheel Width:6.5Tire Profile:60Tire Width:205Tire Diameter:
16.0Front tires: 205/60HR16.0Rear tires: 205/60HR16.0
WTF does all of this mean!?!?!

I need a breakdown, i need pictures of nice setups, i need tips and ideas..

Here is the breakdown of what i would like ----- 17 or 18in rims... bronze preferrably.. I would like low profile tires but wider stance ... i don't want to have to install anything else so im staying away from camber kits and whatnot... (even though the car is fatter at the back and dumped it would look nice without looking so straight, ya kno?)

Thanks for reading.. looking forward to some good ideas and what type of numbers i should be looking for!

PS i like some of the things iv seen at Tire Rack.com, but i dont know if i order a wheel + tire package, if i can change the tire sizes.. bad enough i dont even know what the numbers mean.......

You would need a roll & pull w/ that tire spec IMO. Dont be shy or faint of heart, its OK to roll & pull to make clearance.

Only way to get the EVO looking wide & aggressive

Get some solid, experienced help & get it done right

A 265/40-17 isn't a common size and I wouldn't recommend it for a 9" wide wheel, though honestly I doubt anyone makes a decent tire in that size. The most common tire size you will see is a 255/40-17 and Hankook, Dunlop, Toyo, Falken, Bridgestone, Yokohama, Kuhmo ect... all make quality autocross style tires that work in that size. That being said, with a 25mm offset, it will probably rub in the rear without rolling the fender. You might have to go with a 235/45/17 (OEM size) to have a tire work without rubbing.

Wheel Width is 6.5"
Tire Profile is 60 aspect ratio (aspect ratio is percentage of TIRE width)
Tire Width is 205mm (so tire profile is 205mm x .60 (60 percent of width))
Tire Diameter is a typo... I think you mean Wheel diameter which is 16"
Front tires 205/60HR16.0, 205mm tire width, 60% aspect ratio, H is speed rating, R is Radial, 16 is 16"
Rear is the same...

Does that help?

My car has coil overs and the fenders are rolled a little already I was just wondering if I would have any other figment issues. I was considering a taller tire because I have a lot of wheel spin in first and second, but I heard a 255/45/17 won't fit because it's to tall. I think I'm going to buy the handkook rs3 245/40/17 From tirerack unless someone can convince me to run a different tire size.

If you have a 9" wheel I highly suggest a 255/40/17. If you're a drag racer you may want to go with a 245/45/17 as this will give you a little taller gearing. I'm not here to convince you of anything though, its your car, do what you'd like.
