A good deal?

Have a local guy trying to sell a set of KW club sport coilovers for $600. They look like in good shape, however the seller mentioned one of front coilover was "moist" around the seal and had dirt sticking to it. But he cleaned it up and it was all good. Doing some research, a rebuild is between 100-140 plus shipping...So is this moist spot a pretty good indicator its blown? Also even blown and rebuild...this still be a good deal?

why not spend an extra $100 or $200 on top of that and buy a used set of coilovers that aren't blown / leaking?

$600 for $1800 coil overs; even ones that need a rebuild, is a good price for the KW.

Get them rebuilt. What spring rate do they have?

Is your car a daily driver or just a toy? I ask because the only car Ive been in with club sports rode awful (Subaru 2.5rs sti swap). If its just a track car then they'd work just fine, but you do need to send in both shocks from the end that's blown at least.

If its a street car I'd look for something more friendly to your butt.

Because rebuilt KW's for 600 + the rebuild cost is probably better then anything he can probably get.

Bascially it. The current setup is tein S on stock KBY's which from numerous research will destroy the struts. As of now, the struts are in "decent" shape. From all the research, coilovers don't fit my goals/needs. I'm looking ahead that if the struts do fail, I might've will change to a good pair of coilovers (when good set are at cheap price). My other option is replace it with the stock MR Bilstein w/Robispec that a member is selling on here for the same price as possibly broken KW's. Thoughts?

Btw my goal is for daily driving and occasional aggressive/spirited driving on the streets. NO racing or autocross, drag, etc.

Have you crunched the numbers on the kw rebuild plus purchase. I would still get them if that's the only thing wrong with them.

KW said $150 for basic rebuild. So around $600 plus shipping if I decide to have them check all four. So it would be around $1200. Seller is saying only one might have a problem, but who knows...

That's an awesome deal. I'd jump on Oct if you are looking for coilovers.
