Best budget pad
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php?ck
CENTRIC Part # 10010010 fronts
These seem to not come with hardware, I bought my front hardware for about $18-$20
CENTRIC Part # 10009611 rears
The included hardware doesn't come with the correct pins.
I didn't try the fronts yet but the rears I think I can safely say are the best cheap pads under $100 I have tried so far. If you got the money buy better pads. If you don't spend over $100 for a pair of pads, then these will probably outperform your current pads. I've tried brembo, hawks, stoptechs, ferodos, and these.
I could explain every detail as to why I chose this pad but you can do your own research, I don't feel like typing a lot.
If you have stoptechs then I suggest you try these next. Just try them, you won't regret it... youll thank me later.
Buy the Centric or OEM hardware kits to keep the pads held nice and straight.
No Bedding necessary just drive it normal.
Can't gaurentee fade resistance, if you try to track your car at ultra high speeds, this probably isn't for you, but as far as the street goes, it's perfect for me.

Im quite confused here. 1st of all when you say under $100 for as set, do you mean a set of 4 or a set of fronts and a set of rears? Sorry I didnt look up the part numbers to see. It appears that you mean a set of fronts and a set of rears.
If thats the case I got my set F/R of Stoptechs for ~$120. You cannot beat that in terms of bang for the buck.
Now lets get into the more important thing in my mind and that's braking performance. Im calling BS here for a couple of reasons. 1st of all you said youve only installed the pads in the rear so far. Considering ~70% of the barking power comes from the front how could you even make that claim?
Can you explain why you feel these outperform all the others? Personally I am quite happy with my stoptechs. I dd with them as well as auto-x and i havent had any issues whatsoever. The cold bite is great low compressibility and I havent got them to fade yet during an autox. I would not run them on a track but the autox that I go to are ~80 seconds so theyre getting nice and hot but have yet to fail me.

just another case of someone installing a new part and thinking it's the best thing since white rice with no data to back it up

LOL, I remember that thread
^ My favorite part of the "review". Cmon, are you serious!? The whole point of a review is to explain what you liked or didnt like from the part. To merely say "buy these, you wont regret it" you are not helping or adding any value.
If you would like to explain why you like the pads then please do so, but if you intend to write a review and then saw I dont feel like typing a lot then please do us all a favor and type nothing!

lol I saw this coming, but it's your loss, I guess I'm just a noob with no data lol.....
But at least I know that data on paper doesn't mean crap compared to reality, and an FE pad can have better performance than an FF(stoptech) pad due to the huge gaps in performance variability from different manufacturers quality standards. FE and FF pads must be evaluated by hard numbers (C.F.) and real life driving feel, now if you don't even know what I mean by FE and FF, then learn your dot pad codes, though in my opinion they are not to be fully trusted in the FE/FF area as you can see for yourself.
http://student.ccbcmd.edu/~smacadof/DOTPadCodes.htm
You see on paper a stoptech pad is FF, but since it's a cheap product I'm going to say it leans toward the crappy side of FF pads. So about .35 C.F. and up to 22% fade at 600. This fulfills the requirements to be labeled FF.
But an FE pad CAN be capable of better than this. The C.F. can be identical or even better being that it goes up to .45 C.F. and as little as 2% Fade @600F
The only question is which pad in particular do these ratings fall under.
This reminds me of the thread I made years and years ago about adding caster to the evo. I got flamed then by morons too, then several years later manufacturers release the perrin positive steering response and other companies making exactly what I said they should. I should go back and humiliate the flamers from back then too.
What's humiliating though is that I'm being flamed by nubs who consider stoptechs high performance pads.... wow man, what kind of pads are you comparing these to?
Anyways, if you wanna stick to your crappy azz stoptechs, go ahead, but don't try to act like you know something I don't because I've already experienced stoptechs and they suck, and a real driver with some level of skill would probably say the same, yet you have no experience with my current pads and have no idea of the comparison.
Everytime I try to help I get flamed, maybe I should just make a thread titled, stoptechs are the best, then laugh at the suckers who use them on the street.

No I'm dead serious, and you can go check my several year old thread about the caster.
Anyways, seems no one has heard of these pads or tried them except me, so I don't really get how all of you suddenly know more than me about them. Perhaps if you have thousands of posts and log on here far too often, that entitles you with a more weighted opinion?

In case you want to flame me on my experience, here's my list (street & track).
OEM
Girodisc Magic
Centirc Posi-Quiet - I believe you're using the rears
Stoptechs - Have at home, but haven't touched
Advance Autoparts C-Max Gold
RacingBrake ET500
RacingBrake ET700
Racing Brake ET800
RacingBrake ET900
RacingBrake ET960
Hawk HPS
Carbotech XP10
Raybesto ST-43
Hawk DTC60
Hawk DTC70
CL RC-6
What have I learned over the last 5 years is brakes are subjective. It doesn't matter what the data say, or what someone else says. Reviews should be of facts and experience. Your have no facts. And your experience, as written, isn't all that great. FYI, Centric is the parent company of Stoptech.

I don't know about the thousands of post thing, or your opinion on caster. Frankly, its off topic. But to assume the Centrics are the best pads (you've only tried the rears) to a bit hasty. Your feedback on why the competing pads are lackluster does not prove anything, which is why you feel you're getting flamed.

Also FYI My real general opinion on Centric is 80% of their products are unusable cheap garbage.
What do you expect if your response only says you're kidding?
It comes across as pretty arrogant.
Anyways from the looks of it, you don't have very much experience with FE and FF pads, which is what this is all about, The best CHEAP street pad. In my original post I clearly state that these are not THE BEST, and if you have the money buy better, but I think this is the best bang for your buck in the price range......As the old saying goes though, don't knock it till you've tried it.
Anyways I'm done monkeying around here, I really don't care about convincing you guys, just thought I'd share my opinion and help some people who want bang for their buck.

So im not sure if you were referring to me flaming you or just people on this forum in general but I just want to make it clear that I was not flaming you or your experience. All I stated was that your "review" was useless and merely stated to buy those pads bc they rock. Not only is that completely useless, you also have only installed the rears so I question how you could draw that conclusion?
Also, I never once said that Stoptechs are the best pads ever!!! And that they are these high performance miracle workers made out of ferry dust. I was simply stating that for my purposes I have had a good experience with them. Now Im not the one writing the review so I dont need to go into more detail but I was just stating my experience.
Like Chu said, brakes are subjective. What someone may love another person may hate. This is why instead of saying "buy these brake pads trust me" explaining in detail what you found about the pads such as bite, fade, compressibility, dust etc. will be benificial to all and will actually add value.

FYI Centric doesn't manufacture these pad friction materials. Why don't you be a little more open minded and actually look at the product first, then you wouldn't make ignorant assumptions that Centric makes these pads.

The pad reminds me of OEM brembos a lot, the look (no gas slit), darker blackish color, but looks like a cheaper product than OEM brembos, that's to be expected of course though because it's like 1/5 the price.
Bite, increased quite a bit over the stoptechs, comparable to brembos, the nose stopped diving down as much with stoptech fronts and Centric OE rear, as it did with my old setup with brembo front and ferodo ds2500 rear, the ferodos had more bite and would prevent nose dives with more rear braking bias. (Increased bite may have to do with increased friction area contact with no gas slit)
I have changed my front pads since, to a secret pad I don't care to mention. Because they are even more awesome than these Centrics.
Fade, I don't drive hard enough on the street to tell you the max fade characteristics, but in super hot cali summer weather, I have felt no fade, like I said, you probably shouldn't track these, but I also would say you probably shouldn't be tracking those stoptechs either, so it doesn't mean much.
They are exceptionally smooth, no grease was used, but quiet and silent, not one peep. The wear on the rotor seems very very even. Might be a tad softer than brembos or the same, but the compressibility is nowhere near as bad as stoptechs, and they are quite firm yet don't feel like a brick like the ferodos, more similar to brembos. I dunno why someone mentioned stoptechs have good compressibility because my opinion is totally the opposite, they were the most compressive pad I've ever tried in my life to be honest, while the ferodos had crazy anti compressive characterisitcs, felt like a brick against the rotor.
So all in all just imagine an imitation brembo pad that lives up to maybe 85%-95% of what your OEM brembos were capable of. Just look at the product and see how many times OE is said, they were definitely trying to imitate the OE brembo formula on this one.
Dust- This shouldn't be on the list, this is actually an area created for prissy consumers that are too lazy to wash their cars, everyone knows GOOD brakes that come on BMW's and Porsches have tons of brake dust, So the more the better in my eyes. But most likely to others a lot of dust is a bad thing I guess as far as aesthetics goes. Anyways, the pad chamfers need to wear down more to get a better idea of dust being released.
Thank you for that and I mean it in a sincere manor. Please share what this secret front pad is though. The great thing about this forum is that similar people are offering advice to others. Unless you're competing nationally then why keep it a secret? If you would just prefer to then so be it but its merely out of curiosity.
BTW you really hate the Stoptechs and I find that suprising based on my experiences with them as well what others think about them. I dont think they are too compressible IMO although come to think about it my opinion may be flawed bc I also put on SS lines at the same time that I swapped my pads. Nonetheless are you sure you didnt have any air in your lines and the fluid was fresh?
I would never track my Stoptechs but im my experience from street use as well ~15 auto-x's the Stoptechs have been great for me. Now this isnt about those pads but I just find it interesting that you hate them yet I felt the exact opposite.

I put on my stainless lines before the stoptechs, while I still had my brembo/ferodo setup. Then after that I switched to the stoptechs.
I actually keep a lot of secrets about the evo, most of which I will keep to the grave, I do share, but mostly with people I know in person, sometimes the attitude I get on here makes me want to stop.
My secrets and knowhow is the only thing that can help me stay on par with all the high budget guys that spend lots of $$$, if I gave out all my secrets, they would pass me right up.
Example: I got a buddy with evo 9 with ohlins coilovers and he was always tailgating my stock azz suspension with better cornering, $100 later with a rear swaybar AND my secret suspension modification, and I was dead even or even faster on corners with stock suspension than an evo 9 with expensive azz ohlins coilovers worth what? $1600-$2000?
Yea I think he hates me too.
Reading your "review" and talk of "secret sauce" makes me irritated. Maybe that's why people flame you and not because of your stated victim complex.
edit: yea, your posting is pretty dumb stuff... just a couple of quick picks:
You don't choose the evo, the EVO CHOOSES IT's Driver, only the worthy can handle this *****, the unworthy either crash and total their cars, or get rid of it like the op.
I helped a friend install these last winter on his evo 9, I drove it afterwards and didn't like it. It feels like it changes the steering ratio and turn in is really quick and sensitive. I didn't push it because it's not my car, but from the way it felt, I would guess he still has understeer, and for the price I think he should of got a rear swaybar.
