Evo IX squeaking noise coming from driver-side front wheel

Hi all,

I have recently noticed a squeaking noise coming from the driver-side front wheel.
It appears only at certain speeds 30-40 mph; it goes away at faster speeds or when turning wheels to the right or left.

Could anybody point me to "potential suspects" that could generate this kind of sound?

Thanks!

Possibly fender liner since its speed related. Hard to say without knowing what it sounds like.

I'd say pull the wheel, pull and hang the caliper, pull the rotor, pull the two bolts attaching the hub to the strut, pull the axle out of the hub. Now you can check for any roughness or play in the wheel bearing. While down there check that the axle boots are not throwing grease. If all that checks okay then probably brake noise or some other annoying but not serious problem.

I'm having the same exact noise at the same front driver side at 35-40 mph! I think it's my brake or rotor. Going to install new rotors on front and new pads anyway next week and hopefully that takes care of my issue.

Thanks all for the clues (especially barneyb's).
I am going to try them out this weekend and let you know if I was able to identify the problem.

Also check for any play in the ball joint.
