Evolution MR bilsteins

Can anyone get the Evolution MR bilstein struts from Japan? Does anyone know if they changed the spring rates as well with these struts?

Thanks,

Steve

I tried finding out basic information on the MR setup from Bilstein(USA) and they had no clue what I was talking about. I was finally told to contact the R&D people on the West Coast. I called and couldn't find anyone who would answer the phone. Maybe if you try you will have better luck. Keep us posted.

If you can get them I bet they would cost damn near as much as coilovers...

i dont know about that. when the 03 cobra came out, the bilstein front struts for that car fit every other 94+ mustang and they were selling for about $150 for each strut which is pretty good for bilsteins. they eventually caught on and raised it to about $350-400 for the set.

so maybe bilstein will make a slight excess and sell them for not too much money

I will try and contact the west coast reps. Note that it's possible that Mitsubishi changed the spring rates to match the bilsteins, so we may need the MR springs as well.

I was thinking about the WRX I had and the price on STI parts was silly... you could get a set of coilovers for the price of the shock/spring set...

Jason,

If Bilstein America has struts available for evolutions in the near future, and we can get the same valving as the MR, it will not cost a fortune trust me.

Bilsteins are very cost effective and well built, I remember I could get a whole new set of bilsteins for my 02 z28 for $300, custom valving was only $50 a corner.

Compared to coilovers, it's much less costly...

Sounds good to me, especially if it's available with a package including matched springs...

Japanparts.com has the New Ralliart Bilsteins. I just got a quote for them. $3,500. I think they're sweet but too pricey for me.

Here is the link to Ralliart's page with details. (Japanese only)

Here.

There are no MR parts available to the publci till sometime in the spring....sometime mid-late April

Bilstein USA will not have any clue what you are talking about at all, nor will they be able to get them for you unfortunately....not the best firm to deal with when it comes to special orders

No, that is a Ralliart tuned (read overpriced) setup. The MR does not have coilovers.

Adam, any idea on what the price would be for Bilstein shocks and struts from the MR?
