Very loud high pitched squeel when braking & turning left only

Hello fellow EVO enthusiasts !

Was hoping one of you's would help me out on this one if possible..

Problem:
When turning left only & applying the brakes, I get very very bad high pitched metal on metal brake squeal.

I am running projectmu slotted rotors with bendix pads
This afternoon, I am going to inspect the bearing & backing plate to see whether it is making contact with the rotor.

Any other inputs you guys would recommend checking ?

thanks in advance

To point out the obvious, most pads have a noise maker that scrapes the rotor when the pad is worn out.

thanks !

will have a look at it when i get home from work to see if there is any play.

Would it be the wheel bearing even though i cannot hear anything on a straight or even turned to the right while braking ?

shims that came with the bendix pads
https://automotivesuperstore.com.au/...sRTBoCE3Hw_wcB

greased up all sliders, etc.
but when steering wheel is straight, does not squeel once brakes are heated up.
only squeels when turning left & braking...

Put the angled OEM shims in & try that. That was my issue some years ago

The angled oem shims is the only thing that has ever worked for me with brake squeal. I've tried many many other things....

Will chuck the OEM shims on & will let you know..

reason i think it could be something else other than the shims is when i full lock left aswell at a slow speed such as rolling out of a driveway, I hear a very light metal on metal grinding noise coming from the front left.

What I will do is check the bearings for play, if no play, ill rip the wheels off & put OEM shims in..

Hopefully that will get rid of that ugly sound !

You wont always find "play". I just did my front bearing for the same type of concern. No wheel play, wiered noises louder when braking and turning into garage. Due to worn wheel bearing. Removed hubs and the right side was completely in pieces and the bearings were dry and blueing from extreme heat.

One of the youtube mechanics (he has a channel) claims you can always find a bad wheel bearing by spinning the wheel and feeling for vibration in the spring. I've seen a lot of things with wheel bearing and therefore doubt that this is a sure thing. Still, maybe, worth a try.

ok so I managed to have a better look at it after work

Defiantly seems like it is brake related to me now. No play in either front wheels & the squeal defiantly sounds like it could be the pads/shims I am running.

Put OEM shims in. Nothing changed, still squeal.

Sound is exactly like this:

Although it seems like it only makes it when brakes are usually heated up & applying brake while turning (seemed like it made it turning either right or left when I drove yesterday)

when braking in a straight line for some odd reasons its not that bad at all..

I previously had project mu HC+ pads & had very bad squeal with them everywhere, so changed them to the bendix GCT's.. been driving for about 1000ks since replaced them to resurface the rotor from the previous pads

Did you put any of that copper antiseize or any kind of lube between the pad and shims?
