Alignment Questions

I posted a thread earlier requesting opinion on the alignment. I finally got the alignment done and a fellow member here on EVOM "nastea1" will upload the spec sheet. Can you please give me some input on the spec. The dealership that did the alignment said that it's fine and within Mistu's spec so they will not change anything.

The problem i'm experiencing is that even though the steering response is sharp I feel that at slow speed b/w 20-30mph if I turn the steering about 15 degrees either way I don't get a sharp turn in response. I've driven a friends evo and his steering seems to be razor sharp unlike mine. I thought it was an aligment issue but the dealership says the alignment is w/in specs.

Can you please let me know if that is the case and if I should change anything on the spec sheet to get a sharper response. You will see that the front caster is out of spec but the dealership said that caster cannot be changed as it comes set from the factory. Will this being out of spec cause any issues?

Any insight is helpful thanks!

It could be a "tow" problem. Mine was towed out like mother and it did turn as good as it did when I got it. I got the tow back inline and now it's razor sharp again. Did check the tow?

Just to clarify

Toe >> tow.

toe-in is recommended for street vehicles, but in a pure autocross car, some toe out in the front in coordination with more negative camber can actually increase the trasitional handling, though it sacrifices tread life.

my adjusted alignment :

Front (L, R) in degrees
camber: -1.74, -1.82 (max)
toe: 0, -0.01

Rear (L, R) in degrees
camber: -1.07, -.98
toe: 0.26, 0.27

I understand that toe out in the rear leads to oversteer but are my figures too high? specs say 0.08-0.4 so it's within spec...

nastea1 - Thanks a lot for posting the spec sheet.

evo 8 ya - What are your after alignment specs?

kevin - the tires and rims are OEM. Tire pressure is 32psi all round. That's what the dealership told me it should be and not the 32psi front and 29psi rear as said in mitsu specs

Can anyone please let me know what the alignment should be and would the front caster being out of spec cause any problems.

thanks!
