17x9 x35 offset

A few observations:

Running ce28n's for track days with 255 pilot sportcups- 11.5" wide tire that is as wide as some 265's. Had to roll the fenders/ beat the wheel wells/ and pop the fender a little but they fit. The car is running jic's from rre and the issue is being able to tuck the wheels completely inside so the jic's can cycle. Loaned the wheels to Robi for the OTC and he ran them with some 265's for 1st in class(go Robi!) and he said they fit also - he popped his fender/ rolled also though.

Looks like a 38 or 40 offset in this wheel would work better- IF you have coilovers... They will rub with the stock suspension though on the lower spring bracket. One concern about going that route is at what point you start to rub the lower control arm.

Nice setup GT40, I just ordered a set of 17x9 wheels with 35 offset, gonna run 255 40 17 Victoracer on them. Do you have to roll the front fender too or just the rear? Seem like the front have plenty of room for big tires and wheel, no?... and what do you mean by pop the fender and beat the wheel wells? front or rear? BTW, I'm also running the JIC coilovers.

Actually, you will not have any room unless you are willing to roll your fenders and flare things out- if you have your JIC's set up properly . On that note, they are basically useless if you have stock setup. Properly setup means custom springrate, and rebuilt with the right parts- talk to RRE. You will want to be able to have the wheel be able to be tucked completely up in the well. With this size it requires bodywork in all four corners. Just talk to John Mueller at RRE: http://www.roadraceengineering.com/jicinfo.htm
what do you mean by pop the fender and beat the wheel wells? front or rear?
Exactly what it sounds. I used the wheel supply in Los Angeles and they rolled and flared out the fenders by 2" front and rear. I thought that would be enough but RRE beat it out literally another 1" _ popped the joint where the bumper connects to the quarterpanel in the front.

They also beat on the wheelwell front and rear to avoid rubbing.

End result: looks stock, no chipping and really wide r compounds handle amazing.

Good Luck,

gt40

Sounds like alot of work. Do you have any better pics to give us (me ) an idea of what the end result looks like? A total of 3" difference seems huge!

gt40,

So in your opinion, 17x9.5 +28 will definitely not fit right?
This is the size available for Ralliart R-01 wheel.
Otherwise, I will probably have to settle for 17x9.0 +40.

I'm looking at Ralliart wheels since they will fit w/o a
hubcentric ring.

Thanks,

Edit: I read the message wrong. I thought they are 17x9.5's..
Didn't someone got 18x9.5+35 to fit w/o issues (running 235
tires).
