Tein S Techs Review

Well I was researching which springs to get and I really didnt find all that much on the Stechs but I did get them anyways...

first off I bought the S techs for $150 which is definitely not expensive for what you get...

I will say that the car does still ride very nice... It does not bounce... It is very firm, yet you dont have to worryt about being thrown to the ceiling when going over railroad tracks.

The car definitely sits quite a bit lower, I do like the aggressive stance, but IT IS NOT FOR EVERYONE... For those of us that have driven lowered cars before it is not really an inconvenience probably because you were already goin over stuff crooked stock like me... I can still make it over most speed bumbs straight or with a slight turn of the wheel. However I think driveways are a little tougher now... not on entrance because you really never take them straight anyways... but on exit there can be problems until you get the hang of it...

now as for feel during turning, I do feel a little bit more effort on the wheel to turn it but not much... I think it feels much better... I dont know if I am the only one that feels the next thing but I definitely feel that the back does not want to come around even more so then before. (next suspension mod on my list is a rear bar) turn in response seems very nice as well I think its a tad bit quicker than stock if you take into consideration the new feel of the steering wheel, but either way you look at it it is close to stock. ..

Overall I think this is a great purchase and would gladly do it again. Especially for all the guys who are saving up for coilovers like me but dont have the money yet, but cant stand the gap in the front. I will post more when I really get to drive the car seriously at least a little closer to the limits...

hope this helps some of you...

If you haven't gotten it aligned since you put on the springs, that may be why you have a little more effort on turn in. after putting on my Tanabe's I had 1" of total toe out. Get that thing aligned before you put on a rear bar.

How do the S-Techs perform on the AutoX tracks? Would it be beneficial to install the 35mm rear sway bar with the springs, or drill the sway bars to stiffen them in addition to the springs?

Thanks.

I had gotten it aligned when I posted that I think. They feel very nice still ride quality has not changed since the install. I have not taken them to the AutoX yet and I have never gone before so I would have no numbers to compare it too... I would say though that I am lookin forward to the silver state to see what the car can do... oh ya I would say anything you can do extra to stiffen the back I would think would be beneficial because as I said before the back does not want to seem to come around without some effort...

Just curious, where did you order your springs from?
