Hydraulic Handbrakes

In competition this weekend another EVO and a WRX had hydraulic handbrakes installed. And I was consistently beaten on the hairpins by those 2 cars.

I have a EVO(1-3) can I plumb in a hydraulic handbrake?
I was told I can`t because I have F+C+R ATS LSD`s.

hey guys juz a enquiry abt handbrakes.

does most or almost all handbrakes in cars use a diff brake system altogether with the wheel's brakes(lets sae both disc brakes on Front n Rear).
my friend argued tht all handbrakes use a totally independent DRUM brake system which is connected to the rear wheels....he said even if the back wheels r discs...the car's handbrake system would use a totally independent drum brake set....hence he assumed tht the handbrakes r VERY weak.i'm having a little doubt in his explanation....enlighten me plZ!

n one more.is the bimmer m3/m5 able to do the drifts easier than an EVO can due to the fact tht it's not AWD.....?? does an AWD system in a car lower the chances of drifting/skiddin on turns????

On my other race car(fwd) the hydraulic brake was real simple and under $300 to install.

But this will be the first time installing one in an Awd car.

yes espido1001, handbrakes work on a completely different setup. if you look closley at the rear wheels of a rear disc brake car you will see the drum on the axle as wheel.

also with drifting, drifting with a RWD car is very easy mainly for the fact your sole power goes to the rear wheels and to drift all you do is just add more power. although i would say an AWD drift is probabily a more controled drift mainly for the fact you have four wheels spinning and regaining control from too much oversteer in the drift is much easier then you could do in a RWD drift.

hello there... just wondering what brand is the hand brake? I am looking at one but would like to get a kit instead of having to go and get all the individual fittings. i have heard that there is a kit available in Japan....

Anyone help please???
