Which Tires For 18in Wheels??

Which tires do you guys think comes closest to the performance of the stock Advans in an 18in size?

I was thinking about the Bridgestone S03, Kumho Ecsta MX and Toyo TS1. I've used the search and can't really come up with a conclusive answer.

But it seems that most people are either using the Kumho's or the the Toyo's. Has anyone used the Bridgestone's?? It'll be great if someone who had experience with all 3 tires can reply.

If Yokohama USA would BRING OVER THE ADVAN AD07 NEOVA!!!! My problem would be solved.................

Of the tires available in the stock size, the Bridgestone S-03, and Goodyear F1 GS-D3 will perform closest to the Advan. The Kumho MX is a great tire for the price, however, its overall grip isn't as good as the S-03, or GS-D3. Really can't comment on the Toyo's since we dont carry them.

This is a good question, crazy_evo414. I'm gonna eventually run into the same situation you're in...

Ideally, I'd just like to get Advans in 18"...but untill that happens I'll probably consider Falken Azenis and Goodyear KD's. Maybe the Toyos you're looking at too.

I have to do more research on all three so I can't really comment specifically, but I'd start with those. Whatever you do, don't cheap out on rubber...the Advans are what help give the Evo the edge that everyone loves so much. You usually do get what you pay for...

KD's

I went with the BFG g-force T/A KD - asymmetric like the Advans.

Of these 3, the T1-S has the best dry grip, the S03PP is the best overall tire (unless it never rains in your neck of the woods); the MX doesn't compare except in value.

i have the BFG KDW1 and let me tell you what an amazing tire that is, great handling even in the snow where the advans failed big time, and they look really good and bulky on my 18*9 shoes... just a tought

I was thinking about going with the Toyo's. I've heard a lot of good things about them. The other plus is that the Toyo's are LIGHTER than the heavy stock ones even in an 18in size.

I'm still holding out for those Advan AD07 Neova's though............................. Anybody know if they're coming? I heard that Yokohama was testing them to get them DOT approved.

I have Bridgestone Potenza S03 Pole Positions, they are really nice tires, ride quality is good, they do squeel under pressure which is good for spirited driving so you know what is going on - most high performance tires arent that communicative. Fairly moderate price. Tread wear is satisfactory, but definately a lot of GRIP.

Woops, sorry-when I posted before I said Goodyear KD's and I really meant BF Goodrich KD's.

I'd seriously look at these if I were you...check out the Vishnu forum too-they used them on their One Lap track Evo and said they were great!

FYI, Goodrich is a division of Michelin I guess...
