All Wheel Drive

I wanted to do this on my 2002 Lancer, but I don't know who would do it and about how much it would cost (I know it is going to be BIG BUCKS)...Does anyone know a rough estimate on about how much this will actually cost me in the future.

I'm just wondering where he's going to find an AWD tranny to bolt up to the 4G9X engines since I don't think he's talking about doing an engine swap...

The 2nd Gen GSR's drivetrain should be ok, not 100% sure though. Since the GSR has the 4G93T engine. I am assuming that might work...However, more research should be done.

On top of that, you have to find some top-notch shops to perform this since this is no average mechanic's job. Personally, I don't think that's worth it. However, to each of his own

Lemme rephrase, where's he gonna get one!? You know just as well as me Lan (if not better) that the GSR's are uber-rare.

GSR's can be found pretty easy in New Zealand,http://www.autopoint.co.nz/marketpla...=1&chkRows=500 .... Sometimes, last time i checked their little car trader i found about 15 now i can only find one... they are pretty expensive though about 12k USD

What is the cheapest way (other than to buy a new car) to actually be able to have AWD? Would an engine swap actually lower the price or how would this all work out. Someone a little more techinqual then I, could you please help?

Actually, buying another AWD car would be cheaper compare to what you're trying to achieve with the Lancer. However, let me just give you some run down off things....for the Lancer to be AWD, you will have to cut the floor panel at the rear passenger seat/trunk to make room for the rear transfer case and fit in the AWD model fuel tank. Then you will have to find mounts for the rear transfer case...and the AWD transmission, and all 4 axles plus suspension bits....doesn't sound like a job under $15K for me...

Just don’t do it! It would turn out to be an unrewarding nightmare.

Want an all wheel drive lancer? Buy one.
