I'm looking to buy a jack and some stands and there's this package in Pepboys for $30 which has a 2-ton floor jack and 2 stands.
Is anyone using that or has any experience with it?

It's very cheap so I'm concerned about quality, I wouldn't want my car to fall on me while I'm underneath.

One thing that jack probably has "wrong" with it is a very small base (the actual jacking point). I bet it's no more than a couple of inches in diameter. I prefer a much larger base... somewhere around 4 or 5 inches. It provides much more stability. Check your local Sears. They usually have 2 or 3 ton jacks w/ stands on sale for less than $100.
