I need HELP Adjusting my Caster!!!
I need HELP Adjusting my Caster!!!
I know that there is no immediate way to knock my caster back into place, but it is off and the car forever pulls to the left, slightly but enough to ANNOY the hell out of me. Is there some place that I can go to that can wack this thing back in place? Maybe a professional alignment shop that can masage or redrill a Hole or something???
What about adjustable control arms? Are there any available for the Evo? Help? I am off by only 1 degree, but that is one degree I have to hold the wheel or it'll drift left. I have like 2.7 where it needs to be 3.1.
Any and ALL Help will be greatly appreciated.

Crowned and slop is VERY bad, but on a perfectly flat road, it pulls SLIGHTLY to the left, but it NEVER and I mean NEVER pulls right, it just treks straight in a right condition.
I have to constantly hold the wheel right to keep it going straight or it just keeps going left.
My caster is off on the right side, my thrust angle I think is Zero. Caster is only 1.1 up front, 0 toe. Car is OK, but not perfect, I can't trust it like I used too.

there is no caster adjustment that I am aware of on the EVO.
You can try to play with it by loosening all the bolts on the strut and lower control arm and see if you can within spec.
If you want to go crazy with the caster settings, you could get a set of Cusco/JIC/Tein camber plates and flip them from right to left. This creates a combined caster/camber adjustment.
Don't know of any other camber plates on the market that offer caster adjustment.
FWIW, I have coilovers and my caster is just a little off as well. Nothing I can do about it now, but I am looking for a solution. It has not affected tire wear or the handling either, so I am not that concerned
good luck

Explain this a lilt more please???
The orientation of the studs (that bolt the camber plate to the body of hte car) are not symetrical. So when you "flip" the plates from side to side you want to make sure that you install the camber plate so the range of adjustment points towards the firewall. That will give you a combined caster/camber adjustment.
Keep in mind, this is just a hack and probably won't address the issue your having. IMHO, your issue is just a bad alignment.
BTW, what are you running for a suspension? springs? struts (what kind???). What are your current alignment settings?

Well, like I said, I have similar caster settings.
Sounds like your problem is the alignment technician, not the car. Honestly, I would not worry about it.
find a different shop, or do what I did and learn how to do your own alignments.

I have been to 5 different shops since march, they all say it is impossible, right after they take my money. They all say teh caster is off after I hit a pot hole and bent a control arm, they all say it will forever pull too the left until I straighten my caster, now All I need is a place to make me a shim, or some adjustable control arms that allow for caster adjustment.
