Buschur EcuTek Tune: 289awhp

Hey all, just got my ecu back today for a Buschur flash. I sent it in tuesday at around 3:00, and I got it back this afternoon at around 2:00. So i was out of my car for three days, instead of the typical two. I spoke with Big Al (dynoflash), and my car needed a little more fine-tuning due to the high altitude (denver). Overall the process was pretty painless, although I had to call to find out what was going on, and I had expected to have my car back on the second day. But not a big issue.

I do want to take a second to complain though. I asked the guys at Buschur specifically if the flash was compatible with other manufacturer's intake systems. He assured me it was, I just had to give a list of my mods and it would be taken into account. So I went ahead and ordered the agp intercooler kit and cold air intake. However, it turns out that many other manufacturer's intakes modify the MAF signal too drastically to be compatible with the tune. So when I went for a test-drive, i went into GIMP mode and threw a CEL, P1280. (which is something about the AFR signal). However, I called Al and figured out what was going on pretty quickly. So i took off half of my intake, put the stock MAF housing back on, and I stopped having problems. I lost the whole "cold air" part about the intake, since the filter is now back in the engine bay. But it worked, zero problems, and the car ran great.

At this point I decided to get it dyno'd. I wanted to make sure I was running good safe numbers, and see what my AFR was. Unfortunately i had just reset the ecu, when I went to the shop, so it may have still been learning. Dynomite dyno, ~90 degrees, standard correction...91 octane, 23 psi at 5500 feet of altitude.

The first run came in at 289hp and 302tq. (The guy at the shop claimed their dyno was equivalent to a mustang, and that this would be 330awhp on a dynojet). This ended up being the best run, probably due to the stock intercooler. At some point i'm going to go back, and put the second half of my intake back on, to see if it's really affecting the AFR that much. I'm not willing to risk it for the time being.

Buschur Cat-Back
AGP UICP/LICP
AGP Intake (short ram)
Buschur Racing Mail-in Tune.
MBC.

Final Results: Holy @$#&!!! This thing hauls *** now. Much quicker response time, tons more torque...loads of power on top. When the turbo kicks in it violently shoves you into your seat. It revs smooth as hell. All in all I am very happy with how things worked out...just a little better communication would have been nice.

Probably should just run the Buschur intake if you have all the other Buschur bits.

I'm pretty sure a dynomite reads like a dynojet or very close to it.

Really? Got a link? Everything i've read said land and sea dynos were low-reading, non-inertia based dynos...aka Mustang

I know a guy with one of these dynos and a guy came and ran his car on it and it was almost the same results as what he ran on a dynojet

Yes, I agree. I think it more closely resembles that of a Dynojet than a Mustang.

the shop said it was reading within 2hp of a mustang. He claimed my car would make almost 330awhp on a dynojet.

Smooth power right there. Great tune, go figure with Buschur. I think you will put down a bit more on a dynojet for sure. Happy Motoring.

nice numbers. do not get dynoed on a dynapack or dynojet, both are notorious for reading high hp numbers. if you get dynoed at 330whp, and lose to a civic, dont you think something is wrong

Not if the civic is lighter, and puts the same, or even a little less down.
Numbers are not what you should use if you race. I can get to 500hp cars together, and one will crush the other.
I've seen some stupid fast civics putting less then 300 dwn-and they beat a lot of cars that claim 300+hp.....
