Cobb AP EVO X reflash: My dyno sheet
I had the chance to test out the NEW AP for the EVO X.
The results speak for themselves. The RED FILE IS BONE stock. The Blue File is with the COBB Off the shelf stage 1 93 octane map. In a few days I will be remapping the car with a custom re flash.
53whp PEAK from the re flash and 30ftlbs Peak, but the gains after 5000rpms were huge and the car feels AWESOME on the street. The boost over 5k is flattened out and the AFR is up in the 11.0-10.8 range.
Not bad gains considering nothing is done to the car. I can imagine another 10-15whp will be picked up after optimizing the timing and afr for 93. Base maps always come overly safe.

how hard/easy is it to install and use a preset map with the AP?
I'm n00b to working on my car but I know how to follow directions and am pretty handy.
Curious on this because I won't be able to afford a custom tune for a bit if I buy this now

I know the maps say stock box/filter. I really don't think a drop in K&N replacement would hurt, still pig rich.
JuniorAWD: Do you have wideband? or was the A/F ratios from the pulls? The reason why i'm asking: Have you try a K&N panel filter to see if it changes at all.

Awesome! So the AP doesn't affect flash counts! Even though ecutek does, I don't think it really matters because as many have said, I have yet to see anyone's warranty get voided because of a reflash. Most dealers will NOT look for one, and if they do well, then... they are looking for reasons to not honor the warranty anyway and they would just find another reason even if you didn't have a reflash. Anyway, does the AP lock the ecu like EcuTek does, forcing you to come back to the original tuner of the car? That is one thing that I don't like about ecutek.

ecutek does not lock the ecu....well, maybe it locks it from other ecutek tuners but the ecutek maps are easily accesible via other means. Im wondering if the AP maps will be downloadable as well via these other means.....

service department and he said they can not tell how many times an ECU has been flashed.
