i used the new cobb stage 1 and the perrin stage 1 and i could not tell a difference. At most the cobb has a little less torque.

Im looking seriously at getting the cobb ap. My only planned mods in the future are it, a cbe, and a dropin filter. I noticed while reading cobbs instructions that it absolutely doesnt want any inake modification, even just a dropin. Do any of you running cobb have a dropin filter? Do you think it would really lean it out enough to hurt the car?

It very well could. Why waste money on an intake anyway? Unless you're gonna make 500+ HP it's just bling. The X's stock intake flows quite well. There are many threads from tuner like TTP saying this.

I am running the Cobb stage 1 93 program with a drop-in K&N with no problems. I believe the new map updates say it's ok.

Well, you may be right. Mine was just a works dropin. And I liked it due to no need to replace, thought it added a little hp, and most of all I could actually hear the turbo.

I have a K & N, but I bought my AP from Perrin and use their map (which is ok to use a drop in filter).

I also switched back and forth between Cobb and Perrin maps. Seems just as the dyno proved, however I would say that around town in the normal RPM range (2500-4000), the car is more fun with the Perrin map. I know it is probably not really faster, it just feels it. Dynos don't lie.

What do you think you picked up? App 50WHP with stock exhaust? I'm going to be flashing to Stg-1 very soon ans hope 50WHP stock and another 20 from a CB/Intake would be nice.Doesn't seem out of reach w/OTS Cobb map.

I have is a K&N panel filter too. Tell me the before and after the reflash. Is it a TQ monster now? Stock lag is killing me right now!

It really does not have terrible lag... Its a 2L engine, you cant expect to have torque at 1-1.5 RPM. It slowly spools after that.
