... Noob cake moment! I never think to look for shootout mode because no one ever uses that. I see a dyno graph and always think whp, so... whoops! 325 crank is pretty low though, but I guess for an SST that saps more power than a traditional manual that's not terrible.

Can you explain how? The SST is using a clutch just like the GSRs. There isnt a torque converters like traditional autos that sucks all the power away.

While it still uses clutches, they are not the same as what's in a conventional manual. The twin clutch F1 style trannies use what's called "wet clutches," not unlike a motorcycle. Unlike a conventional dry clutch in a standard manual transmission, these are suspended in a bath of oil, similar to 5w30 motor oil. Since the clutches have to spin through the fluid, it creates drag and saps more power away than a tradition dry clutch. Think of it this way: imagine yourself in a pool of water. If you try to punch or kick under water, what happens? All your effort translates into weaker, slower movements. Same concept here. Make sense?

Well, all dynos read differently and then there is atmospheric conditions, altitude etc. Bottom line, dyno-racing is irrelevant. What is important is that your car gained 42 hp. Congrats.

No, its not recalibrated. It is, however, in shootout mode, look at the screen for proof. Those numbers are an estimated crank HP, and an option in the software if you want to run it that way. Shootout mode reads a lot higher than a Dynojet. In standard mode, that 327whp would show about 255whp. Not bad for an SST.
LOL X10> I just peed myself.Damn that prostate

Environment Temp: 29degC (temp whole year round, tropical country)
Evo Type: SST, Supposedly AUSDM (i have heated seats, headlight washer, etc) but tuner said the ECU was UK version
Flash Type: ECUTEK
Tuner: Ohura Shunpei (HKS Master Tuner)
Dyno Type: DynoDynamics Possum Bourne Edition (apparently reads low)

Baseline before tune: 285 HP / 291.30lb/ft @1.5bar
After Tuning: 327.9HP / 331.12lb/ft @ 1.5bar

Am quite happy with the results, all i can say is why did the EVO not come like this from factory. Tuner told me fair amount of resistance and 350hp was easily achievable with exhaust. Boost was set conservatively at 1.5 tapering to about 1.2.

Comments Pls.
Just curious about your baseline before tune horsepower rating. Is that with all the mods installed to the car? or is that a stock baseline without mods?

self tune using ecuflash is getting more power . . . i think the no's posted are on crank hp. not here to knock the thread but it is still a good gain though but alot more can be done. just my 2 cents. get UICP & LICP and an exhaust system i'm sure there will be alot more gains to come. good luck with the tuning good to know no's.
