There was not enough time. I tried to fit it in with the coilover install, but I made an appointment for this Sat. so hopefully it finally gets done.

Hmmmmmm something doesn't sound right here.

Where I agree I would not purchase them or recommend them to anyone with the current cam selections available for our cars now a days. For the 280 I paid for them new 30/30 was worth every penny.

Going top S2's though now
i have an 8 also and i went +27hp (330whp) from my original tune (297whp) with just the bc stage 2 cams, no springs/retainers... i took them out though and went to kelfords for the fp black setup... they werent bad cams, i personally liked em for the money... Ivey tuned, and the car ran very smooth, just didnt like to start up that well in the cold and had a very rough idle until fully warmed up...

Brian Crower doesnt suck, they dont make good stuff for the evo, but in the srt4, his cams worked flawlessly and were the preferred cam by alot of people...

what works for one car might not work as great for another...

please note that every BC success story is with 8/9s. The BC cams on the X S.U.C.K big time. Something went horribly wrong. Why be cheap on such a critical part? Kelfords/Cosworth/GSC aren't that much more, but they're that much better...

One X on here has reported +25whp @ 7000rpm on the stock turbo with some bolt ons. All of the people who I personally know who have them had great experiences with BC cams which was why I got them. They have different platforms as well such the DSM, 240, and Evo. It honestly had nothing to do with price look at my sig I have a lot of money in this car.

Here is an interesting post by Gunzo an extremely knowledgable member about BC Cams for the X.

"Anyways.. I've tested the BC 2.3/4 .. not sure how similiar they are .. its not bad actually .. and it has bc cams .. and yes .. I've tested MX1 and I AM NOT IMPRESSED.. I've also used BC stroker on my older B16 too (stroked to 2.0) . it was not bad ..
I mean to the guys who committed to buy and tested the products .. I salute you .. to the others who heard from his dog's friends owners' girlfriends' brothers .. give the product a chance to proof themselves ?? DISCLAIMER - I AM NEITHER FOR NOR AGAINST BC !! .. I'm just saying give it a chance .. imagine if its good and news spread .. it won't be as cheap anymore "

I take these opinions with much consideration.

Cool looks like you picked up about 30 whp from your first tune with out the bc cams. Did you go up in boost as well?

Post the Dino when you get a chance.

I overlayed the off the street pull, vs my best run.

The boost was actually lowered to achieve these numbers as the water injection kit is injecting..........mostly water.

Ran ok, I think with more time and some changes, I like GSC and Kelford for the evoX, there is more power to be made.

On one 4g63 pro car we did this week the BC to Kelford 288 swap netted 80hp and 80ftlb at 7 psi less boost.

I am sorry if my opinion on BC cams doesn't make everyone happy but usually the BC is chosen soley on price and that is never a good basis on which to make a choice for power producing parts.

Quoted for truth. The price is very tempting, but the performance is not up to par.
