I'm running mine on my stock turbo tune and the lag is very apparent. I'm expecting that to improve next week once it is properly tuned. I'll definitely be posting overlay graphs on my build and all that good stuff. There's no doubt that there's going to be more lag than stock! The power levels are very different.

You notice a slight difference but its hardly noticeable at all (and I am picky)
Soon as you notice for a split second its slightly laggier your taking off with full boost to redline and asking your self.... I wish Mitsubishi made it this way from the factory.
I have not changed my driving habits with this turbo, nor do I have to downshift to pass a car easily.
Everything is pretty much same on the butt dyno with a lot more top end spool that never dies until the rev limiter hits
Most people who worry about lag or complain that a turbo is laggy looking at a graph have never even been in a turbo car that actually has lag. Like full boost at 4500+RPMS where it would start to bother you for daily cruising

I understand completely. Sounds about the same and the spool seems pretty close on the graph.

Kind of digging this back up but is there any way you could over lap this dyno sheet with one from this car with the stock turbo.

I am looking for a turbo that will make 400-420whp and 340-360lbs.tq on an MR with 93 and have spool up as close to 3,500RPM as possible. Also I would be looking for these numbers on a Mustang dyno or one that reads around 220-230whp on a stock Evo X and the following would be the supporting mods.
- AGP intercooler
- UICP/LICP
- Harmon Motive intake
- AMS Downpipe
- Test pipe
- Perrin Cat back
- Steedspeed exhaust manifold
- 3 Port boost solenoid
- Cobb AP
Basically all the bolt-ons without opening up the engine/changing out the OEM cams.
It seems that you guys are getting the most out of the BBX which doesn’t surprise me after seeing a bunch of the Evo X’s with tunes from you but I am just wondering if this turbo would suit me.

green to hit 400whp you will need cams but you will hit your target spool, red you will not hit your target spool but will hit your hp/tq targets & looks like bbx will get you where you wanna be with slightly lesser spool than red but will hit 400whp or above without cams.

just my 2 cents.

browse around the forums and there are quite alot of info out there and best is to consult the turbo manufacturers (FP & CBRD), your tuner & of course fellow forum members that has similar setups or experience.

I have almost similar setup as you do but i'm still waiting for parts to finish my install & tune to see where i stand with the BBX but the hot weather now averaging 108 deg F and increasing is my limiting factor.

don't forget to get injectors & fuel pump but you can also consider E85 or WMI to achieve your goals and do consider to upgrade internals/ cams for higher revs and most importantly increased reliability for increased power

I think you could get there but spool is more like 4k. My track tune is similar to that but the motor is built.
