Evo X MR 474 hp, 357 lb ft torque

This was done on J-Tran studios Mustang dyno, in Houston Texas. The Tuner was myself, with a lot of help from Carlos at RS tuning. Special thanks also to David at MDR performance for continuing to fabricate baller parts for this car in the name of R&D, and Carlos for practically taking me to Cobb Tuning school.

I had this car tuned on pump gas at Cobb in Plano a few weeks ago and it made 419 hp and 375 tq. I will likely take it up there again late this month or early/mid June. However in the mean time I wanted to test out one of my new intakes. I was going to just tune the maf, but decided to do a couple of pulls. The car has a Garrett 3582, e85 fuel, ssp clutches and seals, MDR Performance custom exhaust and intake, surge tank, kelford 214b's, arp rod bolts, arp head studs, synapse blow off valve. This car has a lot more power in it. I was running out of time, and the car out of fuel pump up top, so I had to back off. There are 3 pulls on the sheet, and they are very consistent. The only changes between the pulls were to fuel, and boost. The torque loss between Calvins gasoline tune, and my E85 tune is Mivec and Timing. The car put these numbers down with a base timing map and no Mivec work to speak of. (No its not on a stock mivec map).

Congrats on putting down great numbers. Have taken your Evo to 1/4 mile track?
Any engine bay pixs?

Interesting on the torque numbers. I don't know much about all the number stuff, but isn't torque where the majority of your "go car go" power comes from? While a nice HP number, shouldn't the torque try to mirror that closely? I know the limits of the MR trans as far as torque goes. But what good is the HP without the torque, just bragging rights? I'm not flaming, I really don't get it.

torque gets you going, HP is what pulls you toward the finish line (top speed, low E/T for 1/4 etc)

Is it just me, or does that torque graph look super smooth? I thought typical torque curves start to taper off when it reaches max torque?

I doubt that a stock GT-R would dyno that high on a Mustang. The GT-R also will eat its tranny after just a handful of launches (and cost $10k to replace). If you don't change the oil at a Nissan dealer you can lose your warranty--they are at least as bad as Mitsu on that front.

Great results. Now I'm pretty convinced my next Evo will be an MR.

The boost curve is very flat also, and the torque curves tend to mimmic the boost curves to a point.

27 +/- whatever the map sensor error factor is.

I do my own labor. I am barely over sticker for the including the price of all the mods. Oh, and an adult can sit in my back seat. Two of them actually.

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall.

Torque is how far you take the wall with you.
