E85 BBX, 100% Stock Exhaust
E85 BBX, 100% Stock Exhaust
As most of the old school people know I already have a track only Evo so I don't need to have the absolute most potential from my 2008 daily driven Evo with 28k miles. I chose not to have a wideband installed with my E85 upgrade to keep things stealth looking which Bryan also said he would give me his ultra conservative tune. Boost peak is 27 psi falling to 24.5 PSI at 7700 Rpms (car would get grumpy with higher redline boost because of the stock exhaust). AFRs are 11.8.
The car absolutely screams in the high end and it's not much louder than stock. From the outside and even under the hood you would not be able to tell it was a 450-500 crank HP Evo in disguise (subjectively calculated). Overall I'm super happy with how everything turned out power wise with the car and being as factory as it is.
Thanks to GST and SE without you guys this would never be possible.
I will someday take it to the Drag Strip for Trap Speeds only. It will never be launched. Edit: Traps posted!
Edit 2/5/2013: Might as well post an update. I warrantied the DW1500 injectors with DW1300 injectors and finally replaced them with FIC1100s and a retune @ FFTEC about 5 months ago which actually gave me a power bump of 300WTQ and 385WHP. No more grumpy misfires and crap idle! Still running stock clutch @ 51k miles (25k miles running this setup so far). Fixed broken picture links in first post.

Cool, put the plastic engine cover back on
How does the lack of torque feel? Do you like that extremely gradual power? Are you willing to do a resonated test pipe and a stock-looking dual exit exhaust?

I can barely tell I have less peak torque than with the stock turbo because once i'm at 4.5k rpms the car just keeps pulling harder and harder instead of dying off because of the maxed out stock turbo. It definitely suits the type of power I wanted (high end quickness). Like i mentioned earlier I already have a seriously loud and completely gutted track Evo (used to drive on street before i picked up the X), so it's a nice change to have a very fast non attention grabbing Evo when I decide to get on it or go on long distance drives.

Wasn't me, but there is another WW X I've seen in the area quite a few times. Its a MR. Unfortunately I'm always in my other car when I see them though.
heading to Sacramento Raceway on the 26th before 5 pm and leaving around 6:30pm with my X. I plan on going for trap speed with no launch. I'm excited to get some benchmarks on the car to put up against the dyno numbers.
