FpBlack + Stroker kit built by Tach Motor Works

I'll keep it short and sweet. We found ERL's stroker kit to be an affordable solution.

FpBlack
Ets 3" intercooler
Id1000cc injectors
Megan exhaust manifold
megan exhaust
GSC s1 cams
E-Spec tuned ecu on 93 pump.

Decent "break-in" tune on pump gas,,, We'll be back on the rollers with better fuel shortly.

nice...

I wonder if it is becoming a good time to upgrade the intercooler core size...

I think the parts combo is failing big time for this customer. Assuming this isn't a super super conservative tune, the spool is aweful for a 2.3, the power is extremely low for a black on a built motor, and the power is low for the lbs of boost.

There's a major restriction here, I'm thinking the word megan, and the S1 cams are one culprit.h

The plus side, is this customer has an easy 100whp available with some simple upgrades to the setup :-)

As per the dyno sheet, this car was at 20psi at 3900 rpm --- Please tell me what rpm your combo hits 20psi in a 3rd gear pull.

4250, but I'm not on a 2.3, and we purposely spooled slow to avoid a torque hit.
Hollywood hit 20psi at 3600 on his 2.3, and that was 92 oct w/ a 24psi target.

Again, I think its the parts, not you guys. I know you all can/do make big power and tune properly.

my erl stroker hit peak torque at 4100 rpm and it was making 490 at peak torque. 33 psi by 3800 rpm so it looks a little slow on spool even for a black

I thought the same thing but i try not to post stuff about that places.

My setup was a bit more aggressive on E85 but I hit 20psi at 3500 on my 2.0L in 3rd gear.

I don't know if I am a good example as I am mr. motor failure all the time.

Who cares anyway though, spool is for pussies!

Erkel will get more outta it with good fuel and if I am not mistaken its a "break in" tune.

Just to be clear again, I wasn't questioning Erkel, I think the setup is faulty. The cams are undersized, and the mani/dp are.... megan.

I didn't think you were questioning me at all... We're just here to share results with parts combos and I agree the choke point is the cam at this point. Customer already had them and will upgrade them for a before/after evaluation. Next will be the intercooler.

The tune is nowhere near "kill mode".... As far as spool-up I'm sure it can spool faster-- I only went wot at 3000 rpm,, I'm sure I can put the car in 4th gear and start the pull at 1500rpm to really show quick spool. I'm more interested in holding better boost upstairs since the gearing of the tranny and final drive dictate higher rpm use.

Nice tune and build E, looks good
Also I don't think there is any missing spool there, just looks like you got on the throttle later in the pull. All mine are done in 3rd at 2-2500k every time for comparison purposes.

However I am concerned with this;
