FP Black - 406whp/355wtq on e85

Hey here is my X with the Black...RallInspired

Before the tuning, there was a problem with the DW injectors...they were the first generetion and one of them died a week before the tuning (sounded like a subi, euuu) . Fortunately we got it replaced the same day with ID1000.

Rick spent the whole afternoon on the car and the results are impressive. The car feels like a monster ready to go.

The spool is actually really close to stock turbo. I read a lot of threads and I was anxious about the spool on the Black. On my stock turbo It spools at around 3300. On the Black I was at 3600... the Black is 300rpm laggier... though when you drive it 300 isn't much of a difference.

Driving it is just like sitting on a reactor guys. It whistles and whistles and once you hit the floor, the car just flies.. like no one could catch you.. More, as my daily car, it drives as smooth as the stock turbo.

In Overall I haven't driven the car much lately, but I am really confident in the fact that it is the best stock frame turbo out there for the X. It is not laggy, driving is very comfortable, and sound of the spooling makes your pant wet ! The Tune was very conservative and because of the stock engine, we kept everything safe. I know that this bad boy still has a lot to give ! until I Build the engine, I will stick with this...very happy !

Tuning was done on a Mustang Dyno. stock X made around 210/220 on this dyno. results are 406whp/355wtq with 26psi max boost on E85. mods are:
-Stock bottom end
-FP Black ported
-Tomei Proncams
-ARP Rod Bolts
-ID1000 injectors + MDR single Fuel Pump
-ETS Intake
-AMS FMIC / UPIC/ High Flow Cat
-UR downpipe
-HKS Hi Power

During the tuning, Rick mentioned that there was a fuel cut between 4513 to 6982... We first thought that is was because I started to run out of gas but after filling up again, same thing. I just have the feeling that it was because of the fuel pump line from MDR that are plastic...

Once Again, thanks Rick from RallInspired for taking the time to tune the car and making it a street monster !

Not really impressive considering an fp green on pump 93 can put down better numbers. Better safe than sorry I guess, congrats

PS you say your stock turbo didnt spool up until 3300? I'll have to check my car because to me it feels like my turbo starts spooling up around 3000 rpms

you mentioned having fuel cut issues...did you replace your Fuel Pump relay from the crappy black one to a blue or green one yet? If that's your prob, sounds like impending doom.

As far as the power...bet with a little lag it feels like this:

He mentioned for the same dyno.

I think the average dyno shows about 230hp/250lb-ft.

It was tuned on a low reading mustang dyno, which made 210/220 on stock X. My tuner said that it would make 460 on other dynos. And based on how strong it pulls, it definitely doesn't feel like 406whp...

you only get lag in wrong gear, fpblack is an insane turbo. I ****ing had 542whp and it scared each and every passenger when it hit.

OP try if you can and get an e85 tune and raise the boost to 35+, your still holding the turbo back, she didn't open up yet.

1. on the black this boost is a conservative..the black will breathe better above 28+ psi..

2. he did mention that the stock X reads around 210whp..it is in the green/dom 2.0 power region..however, the main factor here is stock block..maybe his tuner is being on the safe side..

3. the OP didn't mention if he had a aftermarket clutch, if he has stock clutch that is another thing to consider why the power is being limited..
