BeaterX: Dynojet numbers finally!

I'm lagging behind posting this but I finally got my car on a Dynojet a few weeks ago at Modern Automotive Performance during MitsuStyle.com's Fall Dyno Day.

The car in question, mod list and Dyno Dynamics numbers (481whp for those that are lazy!) here, from earlier this summer:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...x-bbx-e85.html

First up, about a week before the dyno day I decided to try out the virtual dyno software:

I've always calculated about a 15% difference between DB Performance's Dyno Dynamics and MAP's Dynojet and 1.15*481whp=553whp...given add some weirdness for the real world, weather changes, etc etc a lot of that goes out the window, but I was happy that it seemed like my car was healthy and wealthy and well...yea. Onto the dynojet numbers:

First two pulls were showing ~28-29psi, so I reached under the hood and cranked the the MBC up one full turn...I'm using a hybrid MBC/BCS boost control setup with PSI-based error correction but very little upwards correction. This works well for quick changes!

So yea. 481whp at DB. 557whp virtual. 543whp dynojet. I'm happy, the car ran great and it still rips. Nothing really changed between these setups besides tires (same brand/size, just got new ones...sumitomo htr z3) and an oil change.

Here's the mod list for the lazy:

Full mod list:
Primo 3.5" intake/maf with aFe filter
CBRD BBX (stock appearing) turbocharger
Pierburg BCS / Hallman Pro MBC hybrid boost control setup
Custom 2.5" UICP
Buschur Race FMIC
Primo 2.75" LICP
stock intake manifold
stock throttle body
Cobb BOV
DB Performance Ported Head w/ 1.0mm oversized valves and supertech dual valvesprings
Kelford 214-B cams
MAP stage1.5 shortblock w/ MAP X-beam rods and JE pistons
FiD tubular exhaust manifold
Ported turbo hotside
MAP O2-elim downpipe
Megan testpipe
Magnaflow catback

Fuel:
DeatschWerks 300-series fuel pump
Kenne Bell Boost-a-pump
Fuel Injector Clinic 1680cc high impedance injectors
e85

I've been ripping on this setup ALL SUMMER and I can profoundly say CUFK YEA! It is so fun! It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.

Haters hate, peers discuss, carry on.

^Umm, no, thank YOU for developing such a rippin 100% stock-appearing turbo! I guess I didn't thank everyone again that has helped me with this car but between MAP, DB Performance, CBRD, all my friends for their wrench time...I freaking love this car!

Man looking at this again I kinda wish I would have done one more pull with another 1/2 crank of the MBC, I'm just touching 30psi for most of the run and then bumping up to 31 for a second....when I was on the dyno at DB I ran closer to 31 most of the run with a touch to 32...would have likely broke 550 if I had done that. Oh well, close enough for me.

I didn't think the BBX was good for 545 whp. Very nice. You've got 3dman1's FP Red build beat by 15 whp. We've got you beat on torque, but your setup is holding torque out to higher rpm. Higher breathing parts FTW.

Yip yip, right around 550 it rips!

Wonder what it will do with the new MAP Rev3 IM I just put on? Once I get a ported TB on to go with it I'm hoping it'll break 500 at DB and maybe 575 at MAP?

Best part is I'm only really running ~30-31psi on this thing, I don't think it has much most boost in it past 7000rpm but down low I'm sure I could spike 35+ and get more torque but to be honest, I like the longevity. I have like...13k or 14k miles on the BBX right now and it's humming along nicely

the bbx full shares a compressor wheel that is similar to our TAK33RB wheel in our time attack car (but in a garrett housing)

that turbo has produced 557whp on 93 octane on the race car- so its capable of massive flow-

but the stock housing is obviously a bit more restrictive than a .82 tial-

Very nice. It's a great turbo.

Just retuned one on a built 2.0 Evo X / Kelford cams combo to 456whp on E85 on GST Mustang dyno.

It's a potent turbo!

^Ooh! Look forward to hearing about that one! Lomker's car made similar power (470) at DB with his BBX at about the same boost level; these X's sure do breathe well up top

not normally a grave digger. I am researching BBX results and found this. I cant believe how pretty that power curve is. had to comment. I have always said if you could make 400tq and hold it for 4000rpm you would have the perfect car. this is the closest to that goal I have ever seen.

wow

yeah, i've always been impressed with the numbers that scheides obtained with the bbx, so much so that i asked chad about the bbx and found out that the wheels are not simply opposite rotation versions of the bbk full wheels.

btw, what happened to scheides?
