I have a 2012 Tuned by Chad at CBRD and i have not have a problem with any over heating at all runs perfect and pull hard now all the way to redline.

Chad you did a GREAT Job with my car! Runs Perfect just like it should have from the factory.

Mine has never over heated but I have not tracked it. And I do not know if it is down in power because I am stock, never tuned, never dyno'd, and haven't owned a prior X to compare to. I will say I have not been very impressed with the cars stock form.

I have over heated - i have tracked the car
Its a 2012 GSR with 3,500 miles only STOCK
I have done some Auto X without any issue.

I took it to English town's road course and by the third and fourth runs the car started to run in LIMP mode, would not rev past 5,500 RPM, Mind you i was beating on it keeping the revs high right at the red line. the water temp gauge was 3/4 - i did think it was a bit odd and thought it was just my car, next few runs a buddies EVO with similar miles had the same thing happen.

I kept driving it just needed more cool down time between runs and also shifted into the higher gears instead of getting every bit of juice out of every gear it kept me going.

Is this normal?? I thought this car can take abuse??

Heh, the car can take abuse, but redlining constantly is beyond abuse. You need an upgraded oil cooler if you're going to be running that hard for 20-30 minutes straight. Probably wouldn't hurt to upgrade your coolant hoses either.

Also how hot was it outside?

it was about 82 degrees out

I did not run in the red line just shifted at the red line, the car shouldn't over heat ??? Right

It ran fine when I would shift more and not let it get to the redline but I think it also was slightly slower that way? I am still a NOOB in regards to this car

I have noticed the variance and an increased difficulty in dialing in the late 2011 and 2012 cars.
2008-2010 are fine, and very predictable.

I know the spark plugs the cars ship with for 2012 are different at the electrode.

For reference, I was there with him on that day. I have a stage 2 car with a somewhat aggressive tune, my temp gauge never moved past center (the stock one).

I was also at the englishtown racetrack with William1 and vegitoss15, my water-temp was normal during all the 15min sessions straight even towards afternoon but towards afternoon session i was experiencing engine cutting power when its around 6700-6900rpm it wont go any higher at 3rd gear. the track we ran was very tight and not enough cooling for the car .... so i feel like all 4evos was experiencing some kind of power cut (depending on their setup and 2 cars were bone stock)

What is the max speed you guys were seeing? Were you opening your hood after each session?

correct. new plug part is DILKR8B6. i called ngk about it. i was told there is a .5mm difference in firing position. it clearly has a different design for the ground electrode. here is a pic:

i swapped to the older NGK plug ILKR8E6 a while back.
