rally power

i thought i will share my numbers too if someone intersted about rally car power.
WE achived that with the following:

engine has manley rods ( H beam) CP pistons 9.0.1 compression. Cosworth cams. Customized Forge waste gate and Grimm speed solenoid valve (3 port)
Other wise bone stock , including injectors etc. Has a stock Inter cooler . Custom intake and exhaust with a cat (200 mettalic )
Also DW 265 fuel pump and custom fuel delivery system.

Stock turbo with a 34mm restrictor plate on it.

Gems ECU and ACD ecu.

Gabor (Dyno Project.hu from EU) tuned it for 104 blue Sunoco and 22 psi peak boost.

the car made on dyno dynamics :

Front-loaded. That's why you were in 5th gear a lot at the hill climb while we only touched 4th a few places.

Nice. Are you limited by mods or horsepower in your class?

well , the restrictor plate is there to limit the hp we can have. And works damn good. It does kills the performance for sure.
You cant be over 2.5L (thanks for the Subi USA , they made to change the rule from 2.0L max for turbo cars in the rally in USA)
But in the USA basically you can do what ever with your engine as long as you stay under 2.5L and the given race fuel limitations + you use the class given restrictor plate.
Also the clutch has regulations too or tires (245 /18 is the biggest we can use) etc

Restrictor is the main one. Limits the power and evens out the playing field. At the end of each rally, if you finish on the podium, first thing that is checked is the restrictor size.

Because the restrictor plate. They cross around 4100 rpm. Instead. One example how a restrictions works in many ways against you.

Please explain how a restrictor plate alters the definition of HP.

That is what you have to ask from a tuner.

Rob - You know that you're a hero of mine for doing with an X what is supposed to be done, but whoever gave you those plots is a tad clueless. The curves have to cross at 5252 by definition. Those are simply false plots. At a minimum, the X-axis is off. Yes, the peak of torque usually moves down when you put a plate on the turbo, but the curves still must cross at the same point. - Jt
