==============
Updates
==============

The car is great , drivability, handle, and performance. The car mad 311/312.

I know each dyno have different readings, but I thought I would reach higher whp's.

Once I tune it for 97 oc, I'll see how much it will reach. If the readings make me happy, won't go for upgraded turbo and cams.

97 octane gas? Where do you get that in San Jose? You can get 100 octane race gas in San Jose, but it's expensive! I was originally going to dual map my car with 91/100 octane, but after seeing the price per gallon, I did a single map with 91.

Sean tuned my car about 20,000 miles ago when I lived in San Jose. I haven't changed anything since then. Even out here in the high desert of Albuquerque I'm still running Sean's tune. I was going to re-tune it for the high altitude, but the local tuner out here told me not to change it since it runs so well out here.

Next year I'm moving Qatar (in the middle east) , and I'll be using 97 oc there on the pump. It's almost 30 cent a liter.

I'll update the ECU with the new gas before leaving

Congrats on the new found power! I heard fftec dyno reads lower than others, but I'm sure its a blast to drive.

Is there anyone is Qatar that knows how to tune an EVO? If not, what are you going to do if you have an issue, or need to change something? Hopefully you know what you are doing for longevity of your car. Heck, I was concerned moving to NM with my car modded and tuned in CA. Out here in NM we don't have very many Evos on the road.

Don't worry about the number on your dyno chart. As the above post stated, the FFTec dyno is low reading, even for a Mustang dyno. The FFTec dyno was low reading at the old shop and apparently the numbers are lower since the shop moved.

If you're curious to see what your car puts down on other dynos, have a few pulls done on another shops dyno just for comparison. Your performance mods are very similar to mine. Even my numbers are lower than other dynos with similar mods. I've never been to a 1/4 track but I did time some 0-60 street pulls. My car pulled 0-60 in 3.5 seconds on flat ground and 4.2 seconds going up a steep hill. I'm happy with that.

I also was going to go for a bigger turbo for phase 2 with my mods, but I'm happy with my car as is, so no future plans at this point.

Thanx for the advice,

yes we have Evo tuners in Qatar and Dubai , and I hear good review about them. What would varies is the level of expertise and cost. It's cheaper if I done it here.

After reaching 420 whp, I don't think I'll go for more power. Only regular maintenance that I should be worried about.

nice numbers

looks like the 2012's are putting on about the same amount of power.

Running close to the same setup with a tune by sean @ 311/310. I was the first 2012 to be tuned since it was a new ROM. wondering if you have any warm/hot idling stutters where the revs bounce below 600rmp and it feels like its going to stall out?

Working in downtown SJ, if you see a WW evo with some black wedsports holla

An evo X doesn't like to idle that low with big injectors. Have Sean bring the idle up to about 1k rpm.

I was having the same issue after my tune. When warm, my idle would bounce really low and I would get random misfire codes on a regular basis. I raised my idle so it bounces between 900-1000 rpm and I've never had the check engine light come on again.
