Those are good numbers. It doesn't justify getting rid of a green or a map ef2 but I think if u haven't already upgraded your turbo that's the way to go solely on the fact that u got those numbers from pump. As long as u can get the spool time down I think out of the 3 that's a clear winner. Depending on the price that is

I don't know about you guys but that kinda seems like a no-brainer. Once I get the money saved up..MAP EF2.5 it is.

I think map has done a great job with pricing on these turbos, especially for the quality and attention to detail that map has.

Probably about a week I would say, including shipping. Add on a few extra days for porting/coating. I believe they're all custom built to order.

Talk about some serious propaganda going on. You are comparing the Ball Bearing FP Green price vs journal bearing EF series turbos lol. Thats like comparing a Ferrari vs a Honda at the dealership.

The journal bearing FP Greens are $1525.50 during the Holiday's and $1695 after the holiday(normal price).

I don't think fp makes journal bearing turbos for the x anymore. (Green, red, black anyways).

They do have an hta71 for $999 and the new mhi turbo for $1699

No propaganda, I went to each respective manufacturer's website and took the listed price directly from them. FP does not list JB pricing on their website nor do they make any mention of it being available.

This may be just my opinion, but I've yet to see anything that proves BB is worth a nearly $1k price tag over JB. To some it may be though which is great; heck before I bought my JB Green I considered waiting for the BB Green but then decided against it and got JB. JB has proven to be quite reliable over the past 30+ years of Mitsu supplying them as factory turbochargers. My friend has about 50k miles on his JB Green, I have over 25k miles on my JB MAP turbos, Scheides has been rocking a JB EF4 after his [non-MAP/FP] failed, etc. If you take care of what you have it will take care of you, if you push it beyond it's intended purpose it may not. BB is going to have a bit better transient response assuming identical wheels, but I haven't seen anything in the way of real-world spool improvements. I'm not hating on anyone here, FP is just down the road from me, makes great products too, plus I've met Robert and he's a real nice guy; very intelligent too, but competition does make the world go 'round so here we are.

FP doesn't make JB's for the X's anymore that I know of..

So it comes down to the you.. Would you want to pay $1000 more for a BB turbo? To me, the benefits of BB don't really out weight the $1G. If it was more around $500, I might could justify it.. Nobody is saying that JB is better, you just save a ton of cash..

If you were going to buy a BB turbo, just buy a t3 version...way way better and way way cheaper. Then you can go to any size you want and they make plenty of smaller BB t3 turbos that are just as good as stock frames.

hello Kracka

there's a map ef2.5 group sale, I'm thinking on getting on that list. I live close to cobb tunning in plano. Just wondering how is your car holding up with that much torque? Do I need to upgrade my stock fuel system to attain 400whp/340tq? I already have all suporting mods, injen intake, ams TP, ams single exhaust, and ets 3.5 intercooler. Could I just replace the turbo myself and drive to plano for a tuning staying out of boost Im about 25 miles away? thanks.
